Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA)
This morning, several members of the Walker Career Center community were able to take part in the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment meeting held at WCC. The federal Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, known as Perkins V, requires agencies to conduct a comprehensive local needs assessment to guide their local applications. These needs assessments must address six areas:
- Performance on federal accountability indicators
- Alignment with labor market needs
- Scope, size and quality of programs offered
- Progress toward implementing CTE programs and programs of study
- Recruitment, retention and training of faculty and staff
- Progress toward improving access and equity
