Effective Monday, November 29 we are going to adjust our student entry times. Our students and staff have become so efficient with how they move through their morning routines that we can close up the timing gaps. This will shorten families' wait time in the morning cold and after school. See the updated map below

Now that the cold weather is here to stay, please be sure your student is prepared for outside recess. We will be going outside everyday unless the temperature is single digits or the wind chill below zero. We regularly see students without hats, mittens, and a coat.

To ensure your student is warm and comfortable, please be sure they are prepared with the winter gear. Some grade levels have more than one recess per day so they need it!

Please make sure your child arrives at school with a well-fitting mask. We are going through MANY disposable masks during the day for students who do not bring them. We also find many masks on the playground after recess.

Each year we collect feedback from our staff, students and families about our school-wide PBIS behavior management system.

ALL FAMILIES are encourage to take a few moments and fill out this form.

Visitors are now being allowed in KUSD buildings on a limited basis. We have had some of our volunteer programming in the building, and some families visit for some specific academic goal setting purposes. It's great to start to open our doors to our school community again!

If you need to pick your child up early, call the office ahead of time 262-359-6362 so we can have them ready. When you arrive, you can come to Door 1 and ring the bell, OR call the office, and we will send them out Door 1 (the new main entrance.

The only vehicles allowed in the Grewenow parking lot during arrival and dismissal are school buses.

Families should only use the surrounding streets to drop off their student(s) before or after school. Many students walk through our parkin lot to line up on the playground, and we don’t want to run any risk of a walker being accidentally hit by a vehicle.

The Grewenow Family & Teacher Community (GFTC) is our school's PTO. It meets the first Wednesday of each month and focuses on supporting and enhancing the educational experiences at Grewenow and providing opportunities for the school community to come together.

There is no cost to join, all Grewenow families may participate, and any time or resource that is given, great or small, is welcome and will make a difference!

Here is the latest information on our playground build:

The equipment design below was order three weeks ago. It takes 10-12 weeks for the equipment to be manufactured.

Since we won't be able to build the equipment while the gounr is frozen, our vendor is storing the equipment at their facility until March, and the goal is to complete the project in April or May (weather permitting)

We were also able to secure solid rubber surfacing for under the play area (similar to what the Dream Playground has) as opposed to woodchips.

As spring nears, GFTC will reach out to share volunteer opportunities for the Build Day.

See the menu for December's Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Program. Students are encouraged to try, but never forced to eat the produce provided. Remember, the program isn't a snack, - case in point lime wedges aren't really a snack - it's meant to be an experience.

Families are encouraged to send a snack to school with their child.
