March
Message from Principal Eisenbach
Hello CL Families,
Spring is in the air!
If this is the lion portion of March, I can’t wait until the lamb strolls in. Thank you CL families for your patience and understanding as we navigated through the recent snow days. Safety for our students, visitors, and staff is one of our top priorities as a building and district, and making the decision to close for the day is not an easy one.
The WI Forward test is a state mandated test that is administered to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at CL. The testing window for the Wisconsin Forward starts here in March, although most classes might not start testing until after spring break. There will be more information coming home regarding this state test.
Please take a look at the rest of the information below. There are important reminders about 4K and 5K registration for next year, yearbook ordering, etc.
I hope you all find some time to relax and recharge during the spring break. Once we return in April the weeks will fly by!
Yours sincerely,
Andy Eisenbach
Principal
We recently started recycling hard-to-recycle trash with TerraCycle! You can drop off Little Bites/Entennmans, Babybel, GoGo squeez and off brand squeezes, and Dixon, Ticonderoga, Prang and Lyra art supplies at our recycling hub in the cafeteria. By doing so, you’ll not only help the planet but also help us fundraise! TerraCycle gives us points that we can redeem for cash for each shipment. Click the picture for more information.
A popcorn day has been added since School
was cancelled 2/16.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday June 1st.
Please join us for the Spring County Line PTA Scholastic Book Fair!
Monday, March 6th, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tuesday, March 7th, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, March 8th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with family shopping from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Our PTA does not use book fairs as a fundraiser. Instead, a 20% discount will be offered in order to provide more books to our students and classrooms.
Scholastic’s e-wallet provides an easy payment option for students during the book fair. (See our online fair at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/content/fairs/fair-finder.htmlto set it up.) We will also promote All For Books by offering the option to round up at the registers and via a coin collection jar. This will allow us to purchase more books for County Line’s classrooms at a discount from our fair and Scholastic will match our All For Books earnings to donate to the national charity.
The State of Wisconsin now requires sales tax to be charged on book fairs. Our 20% discount will help to offset the tax but setting up an e-wallet is another way to ensure your student has enough funds available to make purchases. Students will have the opportunity to fill out a wish list during their classroom visit and you can return to the fair together for family shopping during parent/teacher conferences on Wednesday from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.
We are asking families to:
● Spend some time with your child looking at the attached book list. Please remember that this is only a preview of what will be available at the fair.
● Get involved and read together. Studies show that students who read excel in school as well as life. Reports also reveal that when parents are involved with their child’s education, students earn better grades and have a more positive attitude about school. What better way to connect with your child in these two areas than at a Scholastic book fair! Partner with us in encouraging the joy of reading while spending time with your child at school.
● Your child’s classroom shopping time is listed on the back of this sheet. You are welcome to shop with your child’s class during this time.
● Take a look at our Classroom Wish List display while visiting the book fair. We are helping our teachers build their classroom libraries. You can help by purchasing and donating books to your child’s classroom or by rounding up at the registers. Thank you!
We appreciate your dedication to creating lifelong readers. See you at our book fair!
