The Girls 10U Basketball team participated in the Coach Jack 10U Tournament over the weekend of March 9 and 10 at St. Jerome’s Academy in Hyattsville. The Lady Saints beat Holy Trinity 19-10 in their first game on Saturday. On Sunday, they played their second game and suffered a heartbreaking 19-18 loss in overtime to St. Jerome, which knocked them out of the championship game and into the consolation game against Blessed Sacrament. The team didn't lose hope and lifted each other up, dominating the game 17-4 to finish in 3rd place!
Taylor led the charge with a whopping 23 points, while Kali-Raye showcased her skills with 16 points, followed by Kaia with 9, Alima with 4, and Emory with 2. What a dynamic team effort!
The girls' success and competitiveness are all thanks to Coach D and Coach Chris. Their words of encouragement and tough love helped the girls learn the values of teamwork, discipline, and hustle. The coaches have made the experience fun for the girls while helping them become better basketball players and teammates.
Congratulations to the Lady Saints for winning 3rd place in the tournament and finishing the 2023-2024 season with an impressive record of 8-2-1!
