Mr. Dickerson - Assistant Principal
Good afternoon everyone!!! We had a great week here at HPE.
Information Update: If your phone number has changed, please call the office so we can update PowerSchool. It is very important that the office has the correct information in case the school needs to contact you about your student. Thank you for your help.
Transportation Changes: If you need to make a transportation change, please do so before 1:30 in the afternoon. The office is consistently receiving changes right before the bell rings. Dismissal is a very busy time here at HPE ensuring your student is at the right location to go home. Please assist us by making the change before 1:30.
Breakfast: If you would like to have your student eat breakfast, please have them here no later than 7:40 a.m. This gives your student time to walk in the school to get in line. We begin our instruction at 7:45 a.m. sharp. We still have students entering the building at 7:45 a.m. when the tardy bell rings and are wanting breakfast. Our lunchroom goal is to feed every child that wants to eat breakfast. If the student is late, they are not only tardy to class but are missing instruction time while trying to eat their breakfast. Please assist us in this matter.
Water Bottle: Please make sure your student brings a water bottle with them each day.
Attendance: Attendance is extremely important to the educational success of your student. The tardy bell rings at 7:45 each morning. The student must be in the classroom at this time. Please send notes for any days your student has missed due to sickness or doctor appointments. These notes MUST be turned in no later than 3 days after the student returns to school. Thank you for your help ensuring the academic success of your student.
Attendance Intervention: If you receive a letter requiring you to attend an Attendance Intervention Plan meeting, please respond letting the team know if you can attend. If you cannot attend the day that is scheduled, please notify me to reschedule. Thank you.
Car line pick up: Please make sure you have a car tag to pick up your student. If someone else needs to pick up your student, please make sure they have a car tag or they must come to the office to show their ID. The safety of your student is our main priority.
Mrs. Hopper - School Counselor
Please see the picture below! I know this seems early but if you will be asking for Christmas assistance, please start here.
One of my roles is to focus on Social Emotional Learning. This helps kids manage emotions, have compassion for others, accomplish goals, make responsible decisions, and have healthy relationships. Along with classroom lessons, I also have small groups I meet with. I would love to have as many students as I can to be a part of a group sometime this year. Being in a small group gives students a chance to engage in discussions and other learning activities that will serve them in school and beyond, helping them succeed as adults.
If I can help your child or your family in any way, please let me know. You may send me an email at shopper@asd2.org or call my office at 369-4492.
Volunteer Approval
If you would like to get approved you will need to pick up an application from the school.
Class Dojo
Free and Reduced Lunch Application
If you have not completed the Free and Reduced Meals Application, please take a few minutes to do this for all your children. If you have completed a paper copy of the application and returned it to the school, you do not need to complete this application.
