The Leaders at Port Barre Elementary will follow the Three B's--be safe, be respectful, and be responsible.

Tomorrow, all students in K-4 return for a full day of learning. We are excited for the 2022-2023 school year. School begins at 7:45 and ends at 3:05. Our goal is 100% attendance every day!

Parents are not able to park and walk their children to class. Please go through the car rider line for drop off. We have student leaders that will assist in getting students to the correct classrooms.

At the beginning of the year, the car rider drop off and pick up line is extremely long. Please have patience as we are working as efficiently as possible. Please follow the red path in the picture. Turn on Pacific St. Go all the way down to the second stop sign. Turn left back on OG and file in line. Please do not sit at the stop sign. If the line is past the stop sign, turn right and turn around in the stadium parking lot.

As we begin this new school year, the health and safety of all students and staff remain our top concern. Louisiana Department of Health has extended the incentive testing opportunity for the 2022-2023 school year to ensure the continued safety of our schools.

Our campus will participate in the voluntary, weekly COVID-19 testing program to help keep our school community safe and allow us to have regular in-person learning. By identifying infections early, weekly testing will continue to keep transmission low and students in school for in-person learning, sports, and extracurricular activities.

Even if you were signed up last year, everyone needs to re-register this school year.

Kona Ice will be on campus this Friday, August 19. Prices range from $2.00 - $6.00. If you purchase the $5 or $6 cup, these are refillable. Each time Kona Ice comes to campus or anytime you see Kona Ice at an event, a refill will cost $3.00.

Water fountains will be used this school year. You may still send your child with a water bottle to school. We have two water refillng stations on campus in which they can refill their bottles throughout the day.

At this time, we do not have concession available for students. Please send your student to school with a snack for recess. Snacks may not contain any type of nuts.

Parent Information Night will be held Tuesday, August 23. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m in our cafeteria. Topics of discussion include the Student Handbook, Academics, and Pupil Progression Policy. We hope to see you there!

All PBES students are issued ID badges. The ID will be clipped on to the student's uniform shirt. Replacement badges will cost $5.00. If the child does not have their badge beginning Aug 22, students will receive a temporary badge and will be charged $1.00 per temporary badge issued.

Student Registration fees for the 22-23 school year are $20.00. The fee is due to the homeroom teacher by October 31, 2022. For your convenience, you may pay through the online portal at the website below. You will need to create an account and add your student to the account. If it asks for a Student ID, please put 000. If you need any assistance, please contact the school at 585-6172.

Student Technology Fees are $20.00 per student. This fee covers the use of the chromebooks in the classroom and if any damage occurs to the chromebook while your child is using it.
