National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
On Friday, September 29, our school took the time to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Students had the opportunity to walk to the St. Albert Healing Garden, to participate in a smudge ceremony, or to watch a selected documentary. Each experience was a way to learn about the history of residential school systems, to honour the dignity, resilience, and strength of survivors and intergenerational survivors, and to remember the children who never came home.
