2021-22 Learning Plan
As many of you know, Mr. Schlichting sent out a communication earlier this week explaining our 2021-22 Learning Plan. Please know that this situation will once again be very fluid and adjustments may come throughout the course of the school year. We also wanted to remind you that we do not have the distance learning "Family Flex" option this year. The learning plan is available below for your reference.
We want to encourage you to reach out to your respective school office with questions or concerns.
Thank you!

Taher Lunch Update
Dear Triton Parents,
The Taher staff are excited to see the students back at school! Here are few things we would
like to share with you before starting off this school year.
*Reimbursable meals (regular school lunches) are FREE to all students again this year. A meal must include- Main entrée, fruit or vegetable and 1 milk.
* Please note: milk is only free with school lunch! A fee will be charged for milk if your child
brings a sack lunch from home and wants milk then the $.55 charge will be applied to their
account. Also, if your child receives school lunch but wants an EXTRA milk there is also a $.55 charge which would need to be paid by the family/guardians through the students account.
*We have brought back the Diner meals for Middle & High school students. That means your Middle or High school student can make a meal on our Diner/Ala carte side and it will qualify as a free reimbursable meal. To make it a meal your student must have the entrée, fruit or vegetable, and 1 milk. We will have signage to try and help explain this and they can always reach out to me with any questions.
*We will continue to have our ala carte line filled with individual items that your student may
purchase. If you allow your student to purchase ala carte items please make sure they have
funds in their account or cash when purchasing. If you want your student's account blocked
from ala carte items please contact my office by phone or email.
*Any negative balances can continue to be paid on throughout the year. If you need to know
the current balance of your student's account please contact me or Kelly J.
*IMPORTANT!! FOR QUALIFIED FAMILIES TO RECEIVE ADDITIONAL BENEFITS WE STILL NEED FAMILIES TO FILL OUT THE FREE & REDUCED PAPERWORK AND TURN IT INTO THE DISTRICT OFFICE. THIS HELPS THE FAMILIES WITH THEIR P-EBT BENEFITS AND HELPS THE SCHOOL QUALIFY FOR EDUCATIONAL FUNDS AND DISCOUNTS.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out!

Grade 7 Immunization Reminders
The Minnesota Department of Health requires students entering Grade 7 to provide
documentation from the primary/family physician or clinic for the following immunizations:
Tdap Booster (tetanus, diphtheria & pertussis)
2nd MMR
Hepatitis B (series of 3)
Polio (at least 3 doses)
Meningococcal
2 Varicella (chickenpox) or Physician Proof (history) of Disease
Parents may choose the option to decline any or all vaccines due to conscientious objections. A conscientious objection form must be signed by parents and verified via notarization and kept in the student’s health file at school. This form is available from the school, your primary health clinic or from the Triton website (www.triton.k12.mn.us) under the nursing department tab. If you choose this option, please be specific regarding which vaccine(s) you are objecting to.
The Tdap Booster may be administered from age 11 until entrance into Grade 7 and is usually
the 6th shot in the series.
Varicella (chickenpox) requires documentation of 2 vaccines or a history of having the
chickenpox disease for children in Grade 7. Documentation of a history of varicella disease must include one of the following:
Signature of a provider and the date of the child’s varicella illness; or
Signature of a provider and a statement that a parent’s/guardian’s description of the
disease history is indicative of past varicella infection; or
Signature of provider or a representative of a public clinic and laboratory evidence
of the child’s varicella immunity; or
Medical Exemption: No student is required to receive an immunization if they have a
medical contraindication, history of the disease or laboratory evidence of immunity. For
a student to receive a medical exemption, a physician must sign the appropriate form; or
Conscientious Exemption: No student is required to have an immunization which is
contrary to the conscientiously held beliefs of his/her parent/guardian. However, not
following vaccine recommendations may endanger the health or life of the student or
others they come in contact with. To receive this exemption, a parent/guardian must
complete and sign the Pupil Immunization From, as well as obtain a notarized signature.
Please provide a clinic copy of your child’s immunization record to include the dates of the
required immunizations. Vaccination dates must be received prior to the first day of school for the next school year in order for your child to attend school in the fall.
Once vaccinations are completed, please mail immunization records to the School Nurse at
813 West Hwy St., Dodge Center MN, 55927 or you may attach it to an email to
kmcneilus@triton.k12.mn.us. If you have any questions, please call the School Nurse,
Kendra McNeilus, LPN at 507-418-7500.
High School Immunization Reminder
Minnesota law requires that all children get vaccinated against certain diseases or have a legal exemption on file to enroll in school. All teen students are required to get two doses of the meningococcal ACWY vaccine. The initial dose of this vaccine is due when students enter 7th grade at age 11 or 12 years of age. The second dose is due at 16 years of age.
Students will need to have documentation or a legal exemption for the booster dose of the
meningococcal vaccine.
For a current copy of your teen’s vaccination record, call the Minnesota Immunization
Information Connection (MIIC) at 651-201-3980.
For more information on meningococcal disease, go to Meningococcal Disease Basics
(www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/meningococcal/basics.html) on the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) website.
If you need exemption information, the Immunization Form
(www.health.state.mn.us/people/immunize/basics/imzform.pdf) is available on the MDH
website.
