Parent Teacher Conferences (March 6 & 7)

Students should be getting confirmation of your designated time for conferences. If you have questions, please email your child's advisor. If you need an extended conversation with any one teacher, please email that teacher and make a separate appointment.

Ask your child...

Have you ever asked your student how his/her day was and you get one word answers? Use these questions to ask specific questions about the week and get him/her talking!

From Dan Gemeinhart's author visit assembly: What is the difference between a dream and a goal?
Social Studies 7 - In which region is Arkansas located and how are the regions divided?
Acc. Math 7 - When would you need to use the Pythagorean theorem when finding surface area?
Social Studies 6 - What two natural resources were traded in Africa?
(Gold and salt)
Science 6 - What independent variable did your class decide to change to test plant growth?
Science 7 - What are several ways that animals interact in an ecosystem?
ELA 6 - What is the difference between a theme topic and a theme statement?
ELA 7 - How can you tell if you should trust an argument?
Math 6 - Give an example of a real-world example using division.
Math 7 - How many angle relationships can you name? (Examples: Complementary, Supplementary, Adjacent, Vertical)
Language Lab - What did you and your partner create and write for your compare/contrast theme project?
Keycode: Ask to see your child's completed "If Then Adventure".
Band: Do you need any reeds, valve oil, grease, or other supplies for your instrument?
PE - What are the 2 components of a birdie?
Choir - What is the key ingredient to produce a louder sound in choir?

Virtual Summer Option for Current 7th/Future 8th graders

A student can elect to take Careers in the summer if his/her schedule necessitates it. Here is the "Choice" Summer School link. All questions should be directed toward Kim Krueger (kkrueger@sdale.org).

Dan Gemeinhart Visits!

Thursday was such a fun day with our guest author! Thank you to our Library Media Specialist, Jill Vanderbaan, for planning such a great event. We had an assembly for the whole school, several "Writer's Workshops" and a "Meet & Greet". It was awesome!
