It's That Time of the Year, Folks! The Bookmark Contest!
Students of all grade levels and ages who are interested in entering the contest are welcome! In fact, we welcome anyone and everyone because we will choose three winners from each grade in honor of our third year!
After reading a student chosen book, obtain a bookmark template from Miss Childs, in the library, to begin your creation!
The following is the criteria for entering the contest:
- MUST be student made
- Due by September 30th to the library
- A creative way to show off your favorite part of the book!
- There are no limitations, besides size, and students are free to use anything they can get their hands on.
- Student's first and last name
- Student's grade level and homeroom teacher
- Students in grades K-3 need to write a few adjectives to describe their drawing on the front
- Students in grades 4-5 need to write a two to three sentence summary of their favorite part of the book and/or what the bookmark represents
All information will be given to students during their library time, teachers will be actively involved in the process, and you can visit back here for additional resources.

A Day at the Library!
Commonwealth Library is the place where we strive to grow life-long readers. We learn about new books, how to use the online resources, search the catalog, and make real-life connections to our learning.
Books may be checked out for 2 weeks at a time, and are due on Library Outclass Day.
The library hosts walk-in times throughout the day. Those times are:
7:30 - 8:00 - Students must report to the cafeteria and request a pass from the teacher on duty.
8:30 - 10:25 - Students may ask their teachers to come to the library to exchange books.2:30 - 3:00 - Students may ask their teachers to come to the library to exchange books.
Only 2nd - 5th graders may come to the library as a walk-in.
