We have had a great start to the school year! This month we are talking about Responsibility. Responsibility will be our Character Trait of the Month. One way to define Responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” Taking action can mean doing the right thing or completing the tasks you have been assigned. Understanding the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. Positive and responsible actions can help people and irresponsible actions can hurt others. We will be focusing on rewarding students for showing responsibility throughout the month of October.

This month we have lots of great things happening in our building! We have activities for the students like our monthly student assembly, where students will be receiving Respect awards for showing Respect throughout the month of September.

We have the return of our Scholastic Bookfair! The bookfair will run throughout the week of Oct. 9th! We will also have a Parrot Experience Assembly for all students, as well as a Fire Prevention Day for our 3rd graders. A HUGE thank you to Roslyn Downtown Association and Kittitas County Fire District #7 for organizing these opportunities for our students! On the 18th, we will be recognizing Unity Day, a focus on uniting to end Bullying, as part of our Bullying Prevention Month. Students and Staff are encouraged to wear Orange on this day to recognize Unity Day!

We also have Conferences coming up this month October 17th through the 19th. Teachers will be sending out sign ups for conferences soon. You will be able to sign up through ParentSquare! If you have any questions about signing up, please let your student's teacher know, or reach out to the main office!

Student drop off begins at 7:45, please use the parking spaces in front of the school. If those spaces are full please use the parking spaces along the playground fence line. We have designated crosswalks for students to cross the bus lane.

Student Pick up will be located on the grass between the bus lane and the playground fence. As classes come out, please stay behind the green cones. When you see your student please, wait to make contact with your student's teacher before leaving with your student.

Parking is busy during this time. Please use caution pulling into the parking lot, as well as in and out of the parking spaces. It takes all of us being cautious to keep our students safe!

If there is any change in transportation for your student, please try to call the office beore 2:00. If you are picking up your student early, please try to call the office ahead of time so we can have your student ready!
