Welcome to the Manning High School Student Newsletter! The purpose of this newsletter is to keep Clarendon County up-to-date with our events and to uplift our school. Thanks for reading!

The title of "Teacher of the Week" is particularly special because this instructor will be selected by the student body of Manning High School each week. Congratulations!!

It's rare to find someone who always has a kind and considerate word, and we are thrilled to have Coach Gandy at Manning High!

Students of the Week are selected by teachers at Manning High School. Teachers are asked to nominate students who display a combination of exemplary behavior, academic participation, respect for peers and faculty/staff, good citizenship, and general improvement.

Last week, the Manning High School's chapter of the National Honor Society hosted their yearly March Madness tournament. During lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, students were able to view the opening brackets for free in the gym. The championship game took place during fourth block on Friday, and it was a nail-biter! In the end, the Freshman class representative won the half-time free throw competition, and The City Reapers were victorious over The Assassins. The National Honor Society had a very successful fundraiser. Congratulations to all!

While you need to prepare for college through-out high school, the college admissions process generally begins early in your senior year. The information below will give you an idea of how this process works.

STEP 1: Submission

All colleges have admissions information and applications on their website. Be sure to submit everything that's required before the deadline.

STEP 2: Review

The college admissions office will put all of the information regarding your application into a file. When all of the required documents have been received, your application is evaluated by an admissions committee.

STEP 3: Notification

Once your application has been evaluated, the college will let you know whether you have been accepted, rejected, or put on a waiting list. Most acceptance letters are sent out by mid-April.

STEP 4: Your Decision

After comparing all college and financial aid offers, you decide which college you want to attend. This decision generally needs to be made by May 1st.
