Hope everyone had a relaxing and safe holiday and ready for 2021!! The holidays at Graves were definitely different this year and we missed our kiddos and holiday traditions. Hope students enjoyed our Holiday Spirit week and Holiday activities, you will find pictures below.

As we begin 2021, I want to thank all our families, students, and staff once again for your dedication and positivity through it all. We have all learned so much through this and I know we will come out stronger than ever.

Our average daily attendance rate during Remote Learning has consistently stayed between 93-95%, this could not be possible without your support. Please continue to support your child by making sure they connect daily.

This past week two text messages were sent out, if you did not receive, please call the office to make sure we have your correct information.

Supply pick up will once again be via the back of the building (bus turn-around). We are trying to have our pick up be as contact-less as possible. Parents are encouraged to drive and open up trunk to prevent contact. If it is not possible to drive please pick up via Door 7 and follow social distancing. Please write down your child's Last Name and Grade/Teacher on a large piece of paper if possible to make it easier to maintain social distancing.

Hello Summit District 104 Families,

The social work and mental health team at Summit District 104 would like to ask you to complete the Social Emotional Screener for all the children in your household by January 18th. The screener is a tool that the team is using to best support the children and families of our district. Depending on the results a social worker may be reaching out to your family. Happy new year! I hope you had a great break. We have been out of school for some time so I am sharing the video I showed you in the beginning of the year to remind you of our expectations.

When you are with your child, there is a lot that you can learn together! This section has all kinds of ideas for activities that you can do around the house, outside, in your neighborhood, and during vacations at different times of year. It also has ideas related to math and science that are easy to try at home (like sorting socks). Try some of these out, and if you find an activity that your child enjoys, look for different ways and places to try it, or share it with your child’s teacher — you may find something that other kids and families will enjoy too!

Math:

Math is everywhere! When you measure an ingredient for a recipe, tell time, pay a bill, or look at the daily temperature, you are using math. These activities offer ideas on how to make math fun at home and start building some math skills that kids will use as they get older.

Winter and Holiday Activities:

Winter vacation and holidays are a great time for learning, reading, and writing together. These ideas share activities connected to the season, as well as tips for getting the New Year off to a good start. Click here for a list of resources.
