Technology during Testing
BUT WAIT.
This is not a problem. This is a great opportunity for our students to brush up on their print research skills! Using print resources develops different cognitive skills and can result in better retention. Also, in the event of the apocalypse, that's all our students will have.
So if your students are preparing for research, why not request some print resources and have them get some valuable experience? Request forms can be found here:
http://annapolismiddlelibrary.edublogs.org/teaching-and-learning/request-forms/
Remote Book Checkout
In order to continue reinforcing our schoolwide culture of reading, we will be doing remote book checkout in lunches throughout the testing period.
- Ms. Buck or Ms. Pfeiffer will be present at each lunch to take students' requests for books.
- The requests will be filled the following day and brought to the same lunch, as long as the book is checked in. Holds will work as they usually do.
Please take this opportunity to bring the library into your classroom. We'd be happy to do library activities outside the library, whether it's research, book talks, read-alouds... the sky's the limit! Just email mhbuck@aacps.org. Do it now! You know you want to!
Lastly, we will still be delighted to see one student at a time from each caring community throughout testing.
