Jarrell ISD Monday Memo
February 12, 2024
Hello Cougars,
Today is the start of FCCLA Week. It's a time to celebrate and appreciate the talents students learn from being part of FCCLA.
At Jarrell ISD, we have an FCCLA Chapter and courses that put students on the path to success. FCCLA stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. The courses are part of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
FCCLA provides a comprehensive framework for students to develop and enhance their leadership skills through training, mentorship, collaborative opportunities, and hands-on learning experiences. FCCLA encourages students to explore different career paths related to family and consumer sciences. Jarrell ISD offers classes in:
Accounting and Financial Services
Culinary Arts
Business Management
Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreations
Marketing
Digital Communications
Nutrition & Wellness
Entrepreneurship
Graphic Design
Digital Media
And More
In addition to classes, students participate in local and statewide FCCLA competitions. It tests their time management, project management, communication, and teamwork skills. These are essential to a successful career and, most importantly, life.
The experiences gained through FCCLA can help students become well-rounded. It enhances their college applications, supports their academic and extracurricular success, and prepares them for future leadership roles and career opportunities.
That's worth celebrating.
