College & Career Readiness
- Counselors will be going into Freshman English classes during the week of November 13th to administer inventories through the HumanEsources program. Students will take Achieveworks Skills which will highlight skills identified for academic and employment success and generate a list of careers that match their skills. This tool can help students begin thinking about post secondary options as well as possible college majors. They will also take Achieveworks Learning & Productivity which will identify specific learning styles that work best for each student. This learning style inventory is an exercise in self reflection and can help students learn more about the environments and circumstances in which they learn best. Counselors will follow up with individual student meetings.
- Qualifying seniors received CAAP letters in October and met with their counselors to get more information on this program which guarantees automatic admission to participating CT colleges and universities for select high school students that meet specific grade criteria.
- A representative from Three Rivers Community College will be at Lyman on November 15th during PAWS to help students set up their FAFSA IDs. Interested students should come to guidance for a pass.
