The Safeties Are Coming!

Third grade safeties are ready to lend a hand. Our safeties will perform a variety of activities from helping younger students navigate the hallways from classes to lunch, raise and lower the flag, and help with dismissal. If you see one of these superstars, make sure and give them a word of encouragement and thank them for their help.

This Friday

On Friday, September 30th your child will have the opportunity to purchase bags of popcorn for just $1.00! The proceeds will go toward the H.E.L.P. Group.

Friday is also a half day of school for professional development. Our day will end at 12:10pm. No lunch will be served this day.

Conferences

Did you sign up yet? If not, please contact your child’s teacher. Harvey Swanson’s conference days are Monday October 10 and Wednesday October 12, starting after school.

A Student Run Credit Union

Our very own third grade students will have the opportunity to apply and run a student branch of Michigan State Credit Union at Harvey Swanson. All the students will be able to deposit and their hard earned money. More details will come home soon.

Connecting

Please keep in mind that many teachers would love the opportunity to discuss the ongoings of the day with you at pick-up time. The challenge becomes they need the end of the day to clean-up from the day and prepare for the following day. If you would like to discuss items about your child, you are always welcome to call or e-mail to have these conversations at a time that works best for everyone.

H.A.W.K. Shirts

Mondays are HAWK shirt day! Do you still need one? They are only $8.00. If writing a check to pay, please make it payable to: H.E.L.P. Group. Just send your payment with your child in a clearly marked envelope to give to their teacher.

Hi Neighbor

Did you know that Harvey-Swanson is supported by a program called, Neighbor to Neighbor? It's a place where you can donate clothing items. You can also be a recipient of those donations if you need. Just let us know how we can help you.

Crossing Guard

We are looking for extra help to keep our students safe while crossing the street. It's a perfect way to help and have a huge impact, with little commitment.

Training time is 2 hours... that is 1 hour video/talk with Oakland County Deputy. And 3, 20 min, on site (at crosswalk behind HSE) trainings.

It's an after school position. On full days from 3:25- 3:40 and half days from 11:45- 12:10.
