A friendly reminder to change your clocks 1 hour forward as Daylight saving time will begin at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 14th. In-person families, see you in the dark again on Monday morning.

Thursday, April 1st is a teacher work day. NO SCHOOL for STUDENTS.

Friday, April 2nd- Sunday, April 11th: Spring Recess. Students return to school on Monday, April 12th.

Please make sure your child arrives at school with a mask. We’ve noticed a recent uptick in the number of students forgetting. Though we have masks in the office for use “in a pinch” our supply is limited. A mask is required at all times in the building unless students are eating.

Families, please remember to keep your child home if your child is exhibiting any of the COVID symptoms. If your child is sent home sick from school, they may not return until they’ve had a negative COVID test or 10 days has passed.

Please do NOT pull into the Grewenow parking lot to pick up or drop off your student(s) before or after school. We have many students who walk through the lot to line up on the north playground, and we don’t want anyone to run the risk of hitting a walker accidentally. The only vehicles in the lot after school are our buses and they do not depart until after the majority of walkers are off school grounds.

Guidance from Kenosha County Health Department and KUSD's Office of School Leadership

• All affected students and their families will receive timely notification via phone call
• All teachers will be using the district virtual platforms to that learning can shift to home for the duration of the closure/quaratine.

At this time, visitors are not allowed in KUSD buildings. If you need to turn something in or drop something off for your child, you can

If you need to pick your child up early, call the office ahead of time so we can have them ready. When you arrive, you can come to Door 1 and ring the bell, OR call the office, and we will send them out Door 1 (the new main entrance)

Families of virtual students in grade 3-5, who have not opted out of the Forward Exam, will come for testing on the dates and times below.

Grade 5 - Tuesday March 23 7:45 - 2:15

Grade 3 - Tuesday, March 30 7:45 - 2:15

Grade 4 - Tuesday, April 13 7:45 - 11:30

Grade 4 - Tuesday, April 20 7:45 - 12:15 (Their afternoon session will begin at 1:15)

Grade 5 MAKE UP TESTING Friday, March 26 7:45 - 10:00

Grade 3 MAKE UP TESTING Friday, April 16, 7:45 - 10:00

Additional Information about the testing dates.

1. Students will arrive at 7:45 entering through Door 11
2. Students will sanitize their hands as they come in to the building.
3. Masks MUST be worn the entire time they are here.
4. We will begin testing promptly at 8:00AM
5. Students need to bring their fully charged chromebooks, headphones, power cords, a book to read, a water bottle, and a small snack. They need to leave their hotspots at home -
6. Grade 4 families see the article below for information on Hotspot
7. Lunch will be provided for students in Grades 3 and 5. Those students may also bring their own lunch from home. Grade 4 families will be released so they may have lunch before their afternoon class session begins.
8. Students will have breaks between their testing sessions and Grade 3 & 5 will have recess.
9. If students do not finish their testing on their scheduled day, there is a day for make-up testing.

Grade 4 virtual families who haven't picked up their child's new Chromebook may do so by calling in advance. Your child's current device, charger, and HotSpot (if you have one) must be returned in order to get the new device.

When Forward testing begins, any grade 4 student who has not picked up their device, will receive their device when they arrive for the first day of Forward testing.

Unless notified by your child's teacher, no new pick ups this week. If families have outstanding items to pick up they may do so at the following times

• Thursdays 12:00 - 2:00PM and supplies are able to be picked up at the Main Entrance.
• Any day of the school week 7:15AM - 3:00PM, families may call ahead to make arrangements to pick up supplies for their student.
• ***Evening time arrangements can also be made with a call in advance on a limited basis***
