Office of Education Policy Recognizes Sidney Deener Elementary School

The Office of Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas recognized Sidney Deener Elementary School for demonstrated growth on the ACT Aspire. Awards are based on the 2021 content growth score calculated by the Arkansas Department of Education. Congratulations to Sidney Deener Elementary School students and staff members!
Searcy High School Students Tour ASU-Searcy
Searcy High School 9th through 11th grade students had the opportunity to tour ASU Beebe-Searcy Career Center. The Career Center is an extension of Searcy High School. At this facility, students may take a wide variety of elective courses for full academic credit through Searcy High School.
McRae Sees Spots on the 101st Day of School!

McRae Elementary School celebrated the 101st Day of School by dawning dalmation attire. Cruella even made an appearance throughout the day.
Lady Lions Named Dual State Champions

Congratulations to the Searcy Lady Lions wrestling team for being named Dual State Champions in Fayetteville last month. The Lady Lions are coached by Jerry Evans and Quint Ashburn.
Sidney Deener Celebrates Kindness Week Through Theme Days
Sidney Deener took part in "The Kindness Week Challenge". Students were taught about the aspects of kindness during counseling activity classes. Each day was themed and students were challenged to show acts of kindness. Thursday was "Yee-Haw, Let's Be Kind" and Hellary Rebullosa displays her hand painted western hat!
SHS Drama Department to Present "Clue"

The Searcy High School Theatre Dept. is excited to announce the upcoming spring production of Clue: On Stage (High School Edition) to be performed April 7 & 9 in the Searcy High School Performing Arts Center. Chena Named to Bowling All-Conference

SHS bowler Laritza Chena earned All-Conference Bowling status by placing 5th out of 38 players with a bowling score of 202. Congratulations on an outstanding performance!
Searcy Cheer Program Information

Searcy High School Cheer & Lionstepper Information
There will be a meeting for parents of 8th-11th grade students who wish to try out for 9th grade cheer, varsity cheer, and lionsteppers for the upcoming 2022-2023 season on Monday, February 28th, at 5:30 P.M. in the main gym at the high school. Interested students should sign up in the office at the junior high and in the east or west office at the high school campus. If there are any questions, feel free to email Mrs. April Butler (9th grade cheer), Mrs. Shannon Holeyfield (varsity cheer), or Mrs. Edie Hightower (lionsteppers).
Searcy School District Students Achieve in Educational Competitions
Searcy Students Sweep White County Spelling Bee
Searcy students took the top 3 spots in the White County Spelling Bee. Congratulations to 1st place winner Ellie Huff (7th, AJHS)! 2nd place went to Joe Boone (8th, AJHS), and Amalie Quiroz (5th, SWMS) earned 3rd place. Huff will compete in the state bee in March.
SWMS Students Compete in Y.E.S. Business Competition
SWMS 5th grade students Dylan Cortes, Will Fuert, Colten Pratt, & Hunter Thompson competed virtually in the state Y.E.S. Business Competition. Their product “Bussin Basket” is a never before marketed school bus storage device. Competing against 143 teams and 31 different schools, the Searcy team won 4th place for Best Business Plan.
