Welcome to Fanny M. Andrews Elementary, Gators!

Principal's Message

Hello Gators!

I am so excited to begin the school year with you and your sweet children. As we begin this year safety will be at the forefront of everything we do. Austin ISD will be requiring masks this year. In addition, we will practice distancing, hand washing, and self-screening before entering the building. Please do not send your child to school if they are feeling unwell. This will help us to make sure we stay open and provide the best learning we can for our little Gators.

Our goal this year is to make sure we close some learning gaps that have occurred during the pandemic. Our amazing teachers will participate in collaborative planning, data-driven reflection, and individualized learning for all Andrews students. I am looking forward to seeing all of our children grow and thrive!

The First Day of School

We're excited to welcome our Gators to Andrews Elementary on August 17th!

Arrival: School doors open at 7:10 am. Students are strongly encouraged to arrive at school by 7:30 a.m. in order to enjoy breakfast in the classroom as a part of the classroom community. Students must be counted tardy if they enter their classroom after 7:45 a.m.

Dismissal: The dismissal bell rings at 3:08 p.m times may be adjusted later in the school year.

*PK3 students will be picked up and dropped off at the Trails at Vintage Creek.

Student Car Tags

If you are picking up your child at Andrews Elementary, a car sign will be distributed for dismissal time this week.

*Walk-up pick-up families need a sign as well*

School Dress Code

At Andrews Elementary, uniforms are worn from Monday to Thursday. Our uniforms are royal blue collared shirts with khaki pants, shorts, skirts or skirts, and tennis shoes.

Fridays are free-dress days. Students are not required to wear their uniforms on Fridays.

Back to School Q&A

Where can I find out more about my student's bus route?

Bus routes are ready! Parents should have received a letter and an email with bus route information. For more information, please call 512-414-6500. Masks are required on buses.

Will there be an after-school program?

Andrews Elementary will offer an after-school program. More information will be sent out when it becomes available.

Is there a list of school supplies?

School supplies will be provided to all Gators this school year.

Can I walk my child to class?

Beginning Tuesday, August 17th, only students and staff will be permitted on campus until COVID-19 conditions improve.

Does my student have to pay for breakfast and lunch?

AISD is taking breakfast and lunch off your plate. ALL AISD students will receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2021-2022 school year.
