February 9, 2023
Greetings TVMS families,
This week we had the privilege to show our appreciation for our dedicated school counselors through National School Counseling week. Our counselors play an invaluable role in supporting our students’ social-emotional development, guiding them through course placement decisions, and easing the transitions between grades. Their effort and dedication does not go unnoticed. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to take a moment to send them an email or note of gratitude:
6th grade counselor Tricia Adkinson: Tricia_Adkinson@hcpss.org
7th grade counselor Maggie Malone: Margaret_Malone@hcpss.org
8th grade counselor Allison Follmer: Allison_Follmer@hcpss.org
We continue to honor Black History Month here at TVMS. Throughout the month, we have been celebrating the rich contributions of African Americans through daily news announcements, engaging content lessons, and our door decorating contest. We invite our students to join us in commemorating this month through participation in our upcoming Black History Month Spirit Week:
Monday, Feb 12 Pan-African Flag: Wear the colors of the Pan-African flag (red, white, green, yellow and black)
Tuesday, Feb 13 Black Excellence: Celebrate Black Excellence by dressing up in Black Tie clothing or your Sunday’s Best clothing
Wednesday, Feb 14 Red or Pink to celebrate friendship
Thursday, Feb 15 HBCU Day: To honor and celebrate historically black colleges and universities, wear your favorite HBCU gear or school colors
Friday, Feb 16 90s Artist: Dress as your favorite 90s artist or wear your favorite 90s graphic tee
