Hello Parkwood Parents,

I am excited to welcome both new and returning families to another year at Parkwood Elementary School! This is my ninth year serving as your Principal at Parkwood Elementary. Our staff is dedicated to ensure our students have a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for supporting our efforts to ensure our arrival and dismissal procedures are as smooth and safe as possible for our children.

During our first week of school, we introduced our students to Panther Pride:

We are Respectful

We are Responsible

We are Problem Solvers

We are committed to teaching building-wide behavioral expectations for all common areas (Hallway, Cafeteria, Restrooms, Playground and Bus). As students practice these traits throughout the school year, they will have the opportunity to earn “Gotcha” tickets to acknowledge their Panther Pride. They will have the opportunity to be a “Bucket Filler” for their classroom and also have an opportunity to win small prizes each week.

Student Fee statements will be sent home mid-September and fees are due starting the day after. If you need assistance with this process, Fee Waiver Forms will be available in our main office and Mrs.Taynor will be glad to assist you.

I have been in education for over 22 years and I always look forward to the possibilities each new school year brings. Together, we can create a vibrant and supportive community that empowers our students to reach their full potential. Counselor's Corner

I would like to introduce Ms. Kylie Salamon. Mrs. DiGiorgi is on maternity leave with her twin baby girls. She plans to return to Parkwood in January 2024. Ms. Salamon is filling in for Mrs. DiGiorgi until then. We are very fortunate to have Ms. Salamon!
