CTE Month: What it means for students
CTE Month presents several opportunities to spread the word about the importance of skilled trades jobs that are in high demand. Students in PSRC have the opportunity to earn credentials through the CTE program that can help them on their way to high-paying careers after high school.
What is CTE?
How can my child enroll in CTE courses?
The Robeson County Career Center offers students several programs and career pathways to enter such as Pharmacy Technician, Electrical Trades, Masonry, EMT, Firefighter Academy and more. Students can complete courses and graduate job ready with certifications needed to enter the workforce right away.
To learn more about how to get your student enrolled in CTE courses, contact 910-671-6095. You may also email PSRC's CTE Director Herman Locklear at herman.locklear@robeson.k12.nc.us.

Mental Health and Wellness
Have you ever had a day or days where you feel like you are so overwhelmingly busy that you neglect your own self-care?
If you answered yes to the above question, fear not, you are not alone. Many of us have such busy lives caring for others that we constantly put their needs before our own. Being a compassionate, caring helper of others is fantastic.
However, when we do not practice our own self-care it could leave us feeling fatigued, depleted of emotion, and utterly exhausted.
We need to take care of ourselves first so we can continue to live the best version of ourselves and help others when needed. There are several techniques you can practice to prioritize self-care.
Check out the following tips for self-care as mentioned on wiredforhappy.com: “wake up early and with intention – how you start each day matters; check in with your thoughts – they become your actions; make time for physical activity; connect with someone you love; practice slow, deep breaths; be kind and laugh.” So how do you reduce burnout and emotional exhaustion when time, energy, and financial resources are limited?
