Mill Valley Weekly
February 23rd, 2023
Hello Mill Valley Families,
Our staff and students have really enjoyed their time with the artist in residence, Marina Lee. She has scheduled several days to be at Mill Valley so that every student will have an opportunity to be a part of these amazing sculptures. Watching this process unfold has been nothing short of magical. It all began with student drawings which are now being brought to life. We will continue to update you on the progress in future weekly newsletters.
Starting on February 27th through March 17th our PTO will be holding a POP's fundraiser where all proceeds go towards our Music & Art Playground. We hope you will consider contributing to this incredible addition to Mill Valley.
Sincerely,
Robin Schrot, Building Principal
Allyce Harris, Associate Principal
Future School Closure Plan (if needed)
Should we face additional inclement weather this school year, we have a plan that prioritizes both student safety and student learning. For elementary students:
The next inclement day after the February 22nd closure will result in a school closure with no need to make up instructional minutes.
Days beyond the next inclement day closure (noted above) will result in a remote, make-up learning day for 4K-4th grade students. The make-up remote learning day would be scheduled on a non-student day this school year, such as April 10 or May 26. Learning activities and materials would be sent home for completion prior to that day.
Attention 3rd & 4th Grade Families
Forward Testing for 3rd and 4th graders will be taking place April 11th - April 21st
Testing will be scheduled in the morning only. Please avoid scheduling any appointments (doctor, dentist, ortho, etc.) during the testing times. More information will be shared when we get closer to the testing dates.
