Homecoming 2019

Samuel Clemens celebrated its Homecoming the week of 21 - 28 October. There were themed dress-up days, a door decorating contest, the Light up the Night pep rally, and a football game & dance, of course. The theme of the dance and door decorating contest was Alice in Wonderland, and our ever-talented Buffs did not disappoint.

Generation Give Blood Drive Competition

Samuel Clemens High School & HOSA will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, November 7th in the campus library. The blood drive is open to all Clemens students 16 years and older, as well as faculty & community members. Prospective donors aged 16 require parent permission (slips in Ms. Brown's room, C202); non-faculty/student prospective donors must sign in at the front office prior to donation.

The blood drive will be held in the library and is one of several blood drives held at/by Clemens each school year. Success in this endeavor helps not only the 170 hospitals serviced by South Texas Blood & Tissue Center each day but also Clemens and its students. Schools hosting two or more blood drives this school year will qualify to potentially win money for the HOSA program.

For answers to questions, please contact Ms. Brown.

SAT Prep Courses

The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a rigorous exam assessing students in the areas of reading, mathematics, and writing. Success on the SAT increases a student's opportunities for not only college admissions but also academic scholarships. Preparatory courses for the SAT are offered by SCUCISD teachers who have received rigorous training on tips & techniques for helping students reach their potential on upcoming SAT administration. Real SAT questions are practiced, evaluated, and explained—including how & when to guess.

Course dates for the remaining SAT administrations for the 2019 - 20 school year have been posted to the Clemens campus calendar. Courses are offered over a series of three, non-sequential days (Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday) leading up to the SAT administration. Cost is $50 for all three days, payable through MySchoolBucks. Note that cost does not include registration for the SAT itself.

For answers to questions, please contact Ms. Merriner.
