CHIPS Weekly Update

Hello CHIPS Families,

Fall has arrived, and with it, cooler weather! This is the time of year when more families may use our car pickup/drop off line. When you are dropping off or picking up your child, please remember the following:

• Cars should shut engines off while waiting the the car pickup/drop off line as staff loads/unloads busses.
• Please keep your child buckled in their seat until a staff member comes to assist you.
• Cars may not pass busses when their lights are flashing and/or their stop sign is out.
• If you are using the car line for drop off or pickup, please stay in your vehicle until a staff member comes to assist you.

If you are walking up to drop off or pick up, please line up against the wall and do not linger around the door after dropping your child off. This helps keep congestion to a minimum.

Thanks for all you do to help keep out drop off and pickup times running safely and efficiently!

The holidays are coming! Chelmsford Public Schools collaborates with a number of organizations that provide additional food for Thanksgiving and gifts/gift cards for the winter holidays. We know it's early (!) but program applications start soon.

"A child's vision provides an important source of information about the world around them. Thus, an uncorrected vision problem can interfere with a child’s ability to learn and reach their highest potential."

CHIPS will begin to conduct the vision screenings throughout the upcoming months. You will only receive information if a referral or further actions are required for your child's result. If your child is followed by a specialist or you choose to OPT OUT of this screening, please email Nurse Kristen Lynch at lynchk@chelmsford.k12.ma.us

Please use our absence line (978-251-5188 Option 0) or email (chipsattendance@chelmsford.k12.ma.us) to report your child's absence from school and be sure to state the reason for the absence (illness, appointment, travel, etc).

Nurse Kristen can be reached by calling the CHIPS main number (978-251-5188) and selecting option 3.

Our CHIPS Little Free Library- such a fun way to help foster a love of reading in our preschoolers! Feel free to stop by with your child and borrow a book! Please remember to return the book when you are finished:) If you have books at home that you would like to donate, please put them in the Little Library or send them into CHIPS with your child. Thank you!!
