New Information
Welcome Back!
The staff has been working hard to prepare for our students to come back and have a fabulous year, and we are so eager to see you at Meet the Teacher on Aug. 9th. Please feel free to bring your school supplies to the event so that you won't have to lug them in on the first day of school. If you pre-ordered school supplies, they will be in your child's classroom already!
Below is information about purchasing the student shirt, so don't miss out! We will be selling them at Meet the Teacher on August 9th.
House Shirts for Returning Students
This year, if you would like a new shirt, we have them for sale. See the flyer below.
These will also be for sale at Meet the Teacher on August 9th.

New Student Video and Parent Q & A
On Tuesday, August 8 at 6:00 PM we will host a zoom Q & A for new parents to ask pressing questions. The meeting will start with watching the video, and then parents can type their questions into the chat box. Use this link for the zoom meeting.
Teacher Introduction Calls
You will only get a call IF your Beginning of Year forms are complete by Aug. 7th.
If you miss the call, please listen to the voicemail and do not call the front office. This is because all outgoing calls list the front office number on your caller ID. The front office will not know who made the call to you, so make sure your voice mail box is cleaned out so that teachers can leave a message.

This must be done by Aug. 7th in order to receive a teacher introduction call on Aug. 8th.
Smart Tags
Parents, please be sure to create a Parent Portal Account in Smart Tag, to ensure that you know your student’s bus route, bus stops, and other important information to track your student while riding the bus to and from school. All information can be found here: https://www.lcisd.org/departments/support-services/transportation/smart-tag-information
Transportation
All parents will choose one mode of dismissal transportation for their child on a daily basis. We strongly encourage all parents to refrain from calling the front office for transportation changes this year unless it is an absolute need. Students do best when they have one consistent routine when going home, so we want to minimize changes as much as possible.
Though we have a solid system for managing the changes, there is a greater opportunity for mistakes because it is a change of routine. The last thing we want is confusion with your child getting home. Safety is our top concern. :-)
Getting PK and Kinder Students Ready for School!
- putting things into and taking things out of their back pack independently
- zipping or buttoning their sweaters and jackets independently
- "restrooming" independently including washing hands
- using a urinal (for boys)
- using a lunch box to eat lunch. This includes opening packages they will bring to lunch and packing the lunch box after they are done eating. They need to know what is OK to throw away and what they should bring back home.
- for car riders, teach them how to unbuckle and buckle their car or booster seats if they are still using one.
Here is an article from Parents magazine that has some more good tips. We so look forward to meeting our littles!

First Two Days
Drop Off and Pick Up
The fastest and safest way for you to drop off your child(ren) is by staying in the car rider line and dropping at the curb with safety patrol. You may also park on side streets outside of the school zone and walk your child to the front doors. The parking lot is closed during morning drop off in order to keep the car rider line from foot traffic in the crosswalk.
When entering the circle drive please alternate cars turning right and left as a courtesy to all.
For everyone's benefit, please turn right when exiting the school parking lot. This is much safer and helps the flow of traffic more easily.
Set Your Child up for Success!
The students need to be through the front doors by 7:15 in order to not be counted tardy. If you arrive at 7:15 or after, your child will need to enter the main doors of the school to go through the front office to get their tardy slip. That is never a fun way to start their day, so please help get them to school ready for learning by 7:05 AM. :-)
All students in their seats will receive a Dojo point as an incentive to arrive at this time.
