2nd Grade
In second grade, we are reading many biographies right now. Cesar Chavez is the latest individual that we read about. Reading about his life and his fight for equal rights for migrant workers has been inspiring. It has been great reading about others such as Diana Golden as well. She lost a leg to cancer growing up and still ended up winning ten gold medals, in skiing for our country. Overcoming adversity has been a theme this year, and I'm thankful we can read about other people's lives that have overcome as well. In math, we finished up our learning on 2d shapes, 3d shapes, and angles. It was a blast building many shapes with marshmallows and toothpicks. Now, we are on to learning about fractions.
