Andrea Conner, BHS Principal
Hello Bulldog Families.
This week, we had the pleasure of recognizing one of our seniors, Mahi Patel, for earning a perfect 36 on her ACT as well as for receiving the Commended Student award from The National Merit Scholarship Program. These accomplishments are well deserved and are a result of a lot of hard work from Mahi. We are proud of her and are pleased that she’s taken advantage of multiple academic opportunities that are offered here at BHS!
While good grades are certainly important when students are thinking about college after high school, it’s equally important to consider the “rigor” or “academic difficulty” of the courses that a student takes. We like to encourage students to stretch themselves a little and take at least a few courses that cause them to struggle.
Research is clear that learning takes place when we struggle with a new concept. It’s tempting to “jump in” and help our students by giving them the answers but when we do this, we take away the valuable process of learning new material. Instead, as parents and educators, we need to encourage them and help them build persistence and resiliency as they work through the struggle. Check out this article from Stanford News about “embracing the struggle”:
Thank you for allowing us to work with you and your students, and enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING
You can reach BHS through two working phone numbers: 513-732-4000 or 513-732-2341.
If you drive your student to BHS in the morning, please pull through the crosswalk before letting them exit your vehicle. Please have them exit onto the sidewalk. (This helps keep traffic from backing up onto Old 32.)
If you pick up your student at the end of the school day, please park in the lot, in front of BHS, closest to the Old High School Building. DO NOT park in numbered slots. These spots are specifically reserved for students.
Mr. Scheel is excited to announce his next international trip: Greece and Italy! In June 2025 he will be taking his 6th trip with students out of the country. If interested, please RSVP here to receive emails and details on the informational meeting.
