Chromebooks
7th grade PBL initiative
JMS 7th graders going 1:1
Jarrell Middle School will be embarking on a new and innovative journey by introducing a One to One Classroom Device Program that will be piloted by the Class of 2019. One to One simply means that each student will have their own technological device to use in each one of their core classes. Jarrell Middle School has selected Google Chromebooks as our device. There are many versions of the Chromebook, but we will be going with the Samsung 11.6” Chromebook.
The Chromebook is essentially a small laptop that uses the Google Chrome Web Browser to activate Google Applications that we will be using. The capabilities of the Samsung Chromebook include, but is not limited to; 6.5 hours of battery life, webcam, wireless internet, bluetooth compatible, a USB 2.0 & 3.0 Port, HDMI Port, weighs only 2.4 pounds, and less than 1 inch thick when closed.
