Wow...what a day it was last Friday!! Students from Preschool to Year 6 participated in the SPARTAN event, organised by our P&C. Everyone, including the teachers, were enthusiastic and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Students and adults ended up muddy, wet and tired, but everyone wore a smile on their face. It was great to see the amount of effort the kids put in, as well as their willingness to have a go at all of the different obstacles.
An enormous thank you must go to the P&C for organising the event, and to all of the parents who turned up to help on the day. It was a great opportunity to bring our school community together and have some fun.
Last week also saw the first of our Kids Into Kindy transition days. These days will continue through until Week 6 so that all of our new Kindergarten students can get used to coming to 'big school.' Thanks to our senior students who are doing a great job as buddies to these new students.
Congratulations to Luca, Jock, Quincy and Caleb for their participation in the Public Speaking Finals held at Matraville Public School last week. All boys spoke well and made our school proud.
Early on Wednesday morning, our Year 5 and 6 students will make their way to Canberra for their Stage 3 camp. They will visit Parliament House, the War Memorial, Questacon and a range of other attractions that will enhance the learning they have been experiencing in the classroom this year. We wish them all a safe trip and hope they have lots of fun. Good luck to the teachers who will be attending...we hope you get at least a little sleep while you are away!
