Bernardo Parent Bulletin #1
August 1, 2023
Dear Bernardo Families,
I hope that you've had an amazing summer with your children and made some awesome memories. The best part of my summer was a family trip up to Yosemite. It was unbelievably beautiful and we had a blast! Here's a photo from a river rafting trip that we took with my wife, two daughters, and son-in-law.
For those of you whom I already have the privilege of knowing, welcome back! For those who are new to our school, I can't wait to meet you. Bernardo School is a remarkable place that has a long tradition of academic excellence, family engagement, warmth, love, and fun. We look forward to making lots of memories with your children in the coming year and working together with all of you to help each and every student reach his/her unlimited potential.
Thank you for allowing me the honor to serve as your principal here at Bernardo. I promise to love and treat your children as if they are my own (and I love my kids very, very, very deeply) and to work collaboratively to tackle any challenges that come our way in a positive and productive manner.
Here's to the best school year ever!
Jeremy Lyche
Principal
Ways to Stay Informed
- Each Sunday evening, Mr. Lyche will send out a weekly parent bulletin that will contain important information. He works to keep things as concise as possible.
- We continue to update our Bernardo School web site.
- For those on social media, we have an active Bernardo Facebook page.
So that we don't overwhelm our families with too much information at one time, we will be sharing different bits of information about the start of the school year over the next two Sundays. Thank you for staying informed and involved!
School Begins on Tuesday, August 15
In the next two bulletins (coming out on August 6 and August 13), we'll share more information about drop-off/pick-up procedures, parking guidelines, breakfast/lunch programs, parent volunteers, and more! Our goal is for everyone to feel fully informed and prepared for a smooth opening to the school year.
Class lists available on Friday, August 11 at 5:00 pm
Campus Open for Non-Guided Tour on August 14 from 3:00-4:00
School Supplies
The only item that 1st-5th grade students will need is a backpack to transport items to/from school.
TK and Kindergarten teachers will provide their students with a tote bag so parents in those grades do not need to purchase a backpack at this time.
We know we have many generous parents who are eager to donate to their child's classroom. After school begins, many teachers will share wish lists of various items that can be provided specifically for their classroom.
