Recently, GWS teachers discovered an exciting array of innovative educational tools during our Professional Development day. Equipping educators with cutting-edge resources, generously provided by the MEF and our PTO, the event showcased a diverse range of tools aimed at enhancing the learning experience. Among the highlighted tools were 3D Doodler Pens, offering a hands-on approach to creativity, while podcasting equipment provided a platform for teachers to engage students in a new way to amplify their voices. The stop-motion animation station ignited imaginations, allowing teachers to dream up ways to bring their students' stories to life visually. Green screens opened up a realm of possibilities for immersive storytelling and presentations, while Makey Makey circuit kits and squishy circuits let the teachers explore the world of electronics in a fun and interactive way. Robotics took center stage with Dash and Ozobot robots, fostering a hands-on understanding of programming and robotics principles. Virtual Reality (VR) goggles transported teachers to new parts of the world, creating new ways for students to have immersive learning experiences. To further enrich the curriculum, Mrs. Barra, Mrs. Molander, and Mrs. McApline shared lessons tailored to each tool, providing educators with a roadmap to seamlessly integrate these technologies into their teaching. We are grateful to these three educators for sharing their talents with our teachers for the sake of our students!

Peaceleaders are student mentors who are selected by their classmates to be the PeaceLeaders of the building. Their mission is to improve school climate and help our school community. We are so proud of the candidates who delivered outstanding speeches. Our mid-year election was very close, and all the students were deserving of this honor.

The Marshfield Education Foundation is always looking for new members to join our organization. The MEF is currently seeking a new Treasurer to begin the 2024/25 school year. We would ideally like to have this role filled before our current Treasurer ends their term at the end of the 2023/24 school year. If you are interested, please send an email to info@marshfieldfoundation.org. Following is a brief description of the role:

About the Treasurer role: Shall maintain accurate accounts of all monies of the MEF received or disbursed. The Treasurer shall carry out all MEF financial transactions at banks and depositories designated by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall have the authority to endorse all drafts received by the MEF, and render as required, an account of all transactions and of the financial condition of the MEF. The Treasurer will cause to prepare any financial statements required including tax forms. The Treasurer shall perform all duties incident to the office of Treasurer. The books and accounts of the Treasurer shall at all times be open to the inspection of the Directors and Officers of MEF and of any authorized auditor.
