Message from Mrs. Harvey

There is so much going on has it really been just a 4 day week?! I got to spend most of my week subbing in our 2nd grade classroom and I it was really nice to get to know these kiddos better (but man do I have some work to catch up on)! :) As you may have heard we have our first Friday Fun Night coming up next week! This is the first one in over 2 years! See below for more information. We are also so happy to see the return of our annual Harvest Festival, put on by our garden club Roots and Shoots! I am just loving getting to meet more families and I look forward to these events and many more to come!

FRIDAY FUN NIGHT IS BACK!

What: A FUN fundraiser including crafts, face painting, climbing wall, parachute activities, scooter course, movie, and SPLASH MR. GILBERT! $ .25 per throw.

When: September 16th, from 6:30-8:30.

Where: Harborview gym and commons

How much?: $10 per student

Pizza $ 2, Juice $ .50 and Ice Cream $ 1 will be for sale in the commons.

This Friday Fun Night is hosted by Mrs. Richert (PE) and Mr. Gilbert (library) and the Harborview PTA

Kindergarten students will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

All students must be dropped off and picked up INSIDE and signed in and signed out by the guardian.

This event is for elementary age students only.

HARVEST FESTIVAL 2022!

We are excited to announce our Harvest Festival on October 6, Thursday, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. For those of you who have never been, we serve a salmon dinner with salad, bread, and vegetables from our Harborview Garden and through generous donations from our community partners. It is a wonderful way to welcome new families to the school and reconnect with our school community.

We need volunteers to help on the day of the event; we cannot make it happen without you! We are looking for people to come early and help prepare the food, cook, serve, and clean up. Contact Jem Gaceta at jemmalyn.gaceta@juneauschools.org to sign up or inform your classroom teachers.

We are also encouraging families to bring either a traditional appetizer, desert, or bread that can be shared during the event.

We are in need of substitute teachers! If you would like a job with the flexibility to choose the days you work then subbing may be a perfect fit! You can even apply to be a sub and then only take jobs at Harborview if that is what you want to do! It is a pretty good gig AND you get to hang out with some pretty cool kids all day! :) You can apply at the following link If you have any questions call 523-1850.
