Hello Lyon Artists!
I am so very excited create masterpieces with you this year! Sometimes we get messy (oh, how fun) in art, so please remember your art day & skip wearing your favorite clothes on that day.
In a few weeks, you will receive information about our Art to Remember Program! You have the opportunity to purchase keepsake items using your artwork! Keep a lookout in those backpacks for information that will tell you all about it.

November 14, 5th grade students will be visiting the Springfield Art Museum! Please be sure to sign the permission slip during your Parent/Teacher conferences in order to participate. More information about the trip is listed on the permission slip.

I am Ranatta Pengilly, affectionately known as Mrs. Ranatta at Lyon Elementary for 10 years. This is my 7th year facilitating learning in the computer lab. I love watching each student grow in their use of technology; from the beginning of learning to find the letters on the keyboard to typing on the home row without looking at their hands. My favorite thing is teaching digital citizenship to the future technology leaders of Republic!
My name is Amy Summers and this is my 27 year of teaching! I love to read (of course!), bake, and spend time with my family! I am excited to share books and new learning experiences with all Lyon students.
My name is Ms. Lovig and this is my second year at Lyon. I am so excited to continue making beautiful sounds with you this year. In my free time, I enjoy baking, exercising, singing (of course), and spending time with my little family.
My name is Justin Prewitt and this is my 7th year teaching (6 here at Lyon), and I am excited to have your child in PE this upcoming year. Just a friendly reminder to have your child wear tennis shoes (really anything but boots/sandals) on their PE day to prevent falling/foot injuries.
Our Specials Team wants you to know about our class point system!
Classes can earn 4 points each day that they attend specials.
Students can earn:
1 point for entering quietly
1 point for listening attentively
1 point for good effort
1 point for exiting quietly
We are excited to use a uniform system in all specials, and we are keeping track of how many points classes earn during the month. Classes that earn the most points in specials will be recognized each month at our Leadership Assembly!
