🛑 If you visit the building in the next week, please be mindful of any closed 🚫 hallway signs. Our custodial crew (Craig, Brad, & Garak) have been working hard to get the floors finished throughout the entire school and this often requires halls being closed for hours at a time in order to let the finish set properly. 🧹🧺🧽

Our students benefit when we partner together in their education. We have wonderful volunteers and we want to continue to grow and strengthen the relationships we have with families and community members. August 28 - Back to School Night (+ middle school orientation)

August 30 - First day of school

September 1 - Full day Friday

September 4 - No School

September 7 - PTO Meeting, 6:30pm Library Program room

• 2nd grade families: class rosters will be finalized and communicated this week via email and individual phone calls.
• Families of incoming 9th grade students: high school orientation will be held September 18th @ 6pm. Save the date and stay tuned for more info!
• 📙 Yearbooks are in and will be ready for pick up at Back to School Night.
• School supplies will again be provided with the exception of personal items such as backpacks, lunch boxes, & gym shoes.
• 🚦 North Wasco transportation will be at back to school night to answer questions you have about bussing and to provide information to families. Additionally, if you have transportation questions, please call 541-506-3435.

We will have a newly revised student handbook ready to publish for the 2023-2024 school year. Some key revisions will pertain to the following:

• Dress code
• Bullying
  
• Cell phones

We are excited to announce the recent board-approved hire of our additional 2nd-grade temporary teacher position. Mrs. Jessie Fields is joining our teaching staff for this coming 2023-2024 school year and we are excited to add her to already strong and dedicated teaching team.

Mrs. Fields has been a Sherman employee for several years, supporting students through her roles with Response To Intervention (RTI) reading groups, supporting our English Language Learner students, teaching library classroom lessons, and running our SKORE after-school program.

Principal Kroll and I are excited to see Mrs. Fields grow in her new role as she continues to guide and support Sherman students. Please help me in welcoming Mrs. Fields to our teaching staff!

As mentioned in our previous Husky Monthly's, we have Instructional Assistant positions posted and we were asking for your help in spreading the word to potential excellent candidates to join our great staff. Thank you for spreading the word! We are very excited and optimistic about the applicant pool we have and are looking forward to being able to announce those hires soon!
