We will have "interview days" on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. The first day of school will be Thursday, September 9th.

Thursday, September 9 - FIRST Day of School

We will begin the school year with two days of family / teacher interviews. Families should register for a time slot below if not already done. Families will meet with the teachers in their student's classroom.

In addition to meeting with the teacher, students will take part in a reading assessment. Students will also have an opportunity to have their vision and hearing screened. We will have the gym supervised for siblings to use during the interview times.

Interview days are a perfect time to bring any materials into the school for your student. You can place things inside of their locker and get ready for the first day of school!

Pictures will NOT take place on the interview days!

As next Thursday rapidly approaches we want to make sure that all of our families are aware of the daily schedule and routines that we have in place.

Students eating breakfast will be able to enter the building at 7:40 AM. Students that are not eating breakfast will remain outside until 7:55 AM (this includes bus riders, walkers, and students getting dropped off). We will have supervision outside beginning at 7:40 AM.

To begin the school year we will not allow visitors into the building (unless previously scheduled) before or after school. We have this policy in place to limit the amount of exposure to our students and staff.

The school day will end at 3:05 PM for our walkers and bus riders. Information on the pick-up can be found below in this newsletter.

We are hoping to put a plan in place that allows our students to be safely picked up at the end of the day.

All elementary students should be picked up in the east parking outside the front of the elementary school. Parents should remain in their cars and the students will come to you. Once the student is in the car and secure, cars should exit the parking lot. Below you will see a picture of the parking lot and direction that all should be moving.

We will have staff with the students out by the pickup vehicles. We will use radios to communicate which students have rides waiting in the pick up line.

To aid us in delivering the students to the vehicles all students that are going to be picked up will be given a "nameplate" for the vehicle that comes to pick them up. By simply placing this in the passenger side window we will be able to quickly identify which student you are there to pick up.

We are hoping that with everyone following the same protocol our pick-up time will be safe and easy for all involved.

After many parent discussions and community input, we have decided to add a crossing guard on highway 34 on the north side of the school (see image below). The crossing guard will be present before school at 7:40 AM, and after school until 3:20 PM. We hope this will create a safer to and from school experience.

Picture day will take place this year on September 28 and 29. Retakes will be on Oct. 28.

Our learning plan for the beginning of school has not changed from the last update. You can access the letter that we sent out to all of our families below. Please reach out if you have any questions.

This letter goes through the required immunizations and process if declining. DTP, Polio, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and MMR vaccinations are required to attend school in Minnesota.

Below is a letter from Taher, our food provider at Triton Public Schools. Breakfast and lunch will once again be free this year! With that being said, we still ask that families fill out the free and reduced paperwork so that all benefits can be received. This paperwork helps the families as well as the school to receive all available funds.

Our parent engagement group has many fun things planned for our students this year. They will have a desk set up during our interview days if you are looking to join or just want to ask questions.

You will also receive information at interview days on the TEAM fundraiser. Cobra Cash is a free will donation with 100% of proceeds come directly back to our students!
