Preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences - Oct 17, Oct 26, and Nov 1
As part of our commitment to your child's education and growth, we are excited to announce the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for October 17th, October 26th, and November 1st. These conferences offer a valuable opportunity for you to engage with your child's teacher, gain insights into their academic progress, and foster a collaborative learning environment.
The importance of attending these conferences cannot be overstated. Here are some key reasons why your participation is vital:
1. Parent-teacher conferences allow you to receive firsthand information about your child's academic, social, and emotional development. You will gain insights into their strengths and areas that may need improvement.
2. It's an opportunity to establish an open line of communication with your child's teacher. Sharing your observations, concerns, and goals for your child will help the teacher tailor their approach to best support your child's needs.
3. If your child is facing any challenges, working together with the teacher can lead to effective solutions. This collaborative effort can make a significant impact on your child's educational experience.
4. Parent-teacher conferences provide a platform to discuss academic goals and strategies for improvement. This can help your child stay motivated and focused on their studies.
To make the most of these conferences, here are some tips on how to prepare for your conversation with the teacher:
1. Before the conference, take some time to review your child's recent assignments, tests, and homework. This will give you a sense of their progress and areas where they may need assistance.
2. Write down any questions or concerns you have about your child's academic performance, behavior, or well-being. This will ensure that you address all your important points during the conference.
3. Think about your child's academic and personal goals for the year. Share these with the teacher and discuss how you can work together to achieve them.
4. Keep an open mind during the conference. Teachers have valuable insights into your child's classroom behavior and learning style, and their suggestions can be invaluable.
5. While you may have questions and concerns, also be sure to actively listen to the teacher's feedback and recommendations. A collaborative approach often yields the best results.
Please remember to sign up for a conference slot on the provided dates. We look forward to seeing you and working together to support your child's educational journey. Your active involvement makes a significant difference in your child's success.
If you encounter any scheduling conflicts or have specific concerns that require immediate attention, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher. We are here to support both you and your child in their educational endeavors.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
🔔 Elementary School Arrival Information 🔔
The elementary school doors open at 7:50 a.m. Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. We want to ensure that everyone has a smooth start to their day.
For parent drop-off, please use the designated area in front of the school. Students and their families should not be walking between our parked buses. It is not safe walking from the parking lot and along the buses to get to our elementary doors. Please help our drivers by approaching the buildings from the front of the school.
Punctuality is important. Students who enter the building after 8:00 a.m. will be considered tardy. Let's all work together to ensure everyone gets the most out of their learning time.
📣 Elementary School Dismissal Information 📣
Dismissal for all walkers and parent pick-ups will take place at 2:20-2:30 p.m. Please make sure to be on time so we can efficiently reunite you with your child(ren).
To facilitate a smooth dismissal process, we kindly ask that you wait in the designated area, on the front lawn, for pick-up.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience during dismissal. Safety is our top priority, and your assistance in adhering to our procedures contributes to a secure and efficient process.
Remember, clear communication and adherence to these dismissal procedures help us maintain a safe and organized environment for all students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact our school office.
Upcoming Events
Fire Safety Day 2023 - An Exciting Learning Experience for PreK-6 Students
We are excited to announce that our PreK-6 students will be participating in a special Fire Safety Day on Oct. 6. This event will provide our elementary students with a unique and valuable learning experience focused on fire safety and emergency preparedness.
Our volunteer firefighters and rescue squad members will conduct interactive demonstrations to teach students about fire safety, including fire prevention, how to respond in case of a fire, and the importance of having working smoke detectors in their homes.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities that simulate emergency situations, helping them understand the importance of remaining calm and following safety procedures.
Students will get up close to firefighter equipment and learn about the tools and gear firefighters use to keep our community safe.
Students will have a chance to ask questions and interact with our community heroes, fostering a positive and trusting relationship with these dedicated individuals.
Fire safety education is crucial for children of all ages. It equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves and others in the event of a fire or emergency. By participating in Fire Safety Day, our students will gain valuable insights into fire prevention and emergency preparedness, helping them become more responsible and safety-conscious members of our community.
We encourage parents and guardians to engage with their children before and after Fire Safety Day. Discuss the importance of fire safety at home, check smoke detectors, and ensure that your family has a fire evacuation plan in place. This collaborative effort between school and home will reinforce the lessons learned during the event.
We are grateful to the volunteer firefighters from Salem, Hebron, Rupert, Shushan, and our local rescue squad for their dedication to our community's safety and for making this educational experience possible.
