HAC Information and Student Grades
It is the goal of RJHS teachers and staff to keep student grades updated weekly for parents and guardians to stay aware of their child's/ children's progress throughout the semester. If you are having trouble accessing HAC (Home Access Center) you can email Jennifer Roberts for help with login credentials.
Semester Test Exemption Policy: Spring Semester
Students that maintain an 80% average over the 3rd and 4th 9 weeks, have the option to be exempt from their semester exam. Attendance does not matter as far as exemptions go.
Students are welcome to take their exam if they would like to improve their grade. If a student is exempt and attempts to take the semester exam and they do not do well, it will not count against them.
Congratulations to our January Employee & Student of the Month
Announcements:
9th Grade English: "To Kill A Mockingbird" Unit
Students have now read the first chapter of To Kill a Mockingbird and received a copy to continue to read throughout this quarter. Parents, letters were sent out at the end of last week about this unit, and we hope you are able to sign them showing your support for this unit so that your children can turn them in by this Friday, January 20th. We look forward to the study of Lee’s choices in this historical classic and are enjoying the many wonderful insights your children, as a modern audience, provide in our safe classroom discussions.
Kiss the Pig Fundraiser and Pep Rally
The NJHS annual Kiss the Pig Fundraiser starts Tuesday, January 17th thru Friday, January 20th! 9th Grade NJHS members will start collecting money this coming week. Students can bring coin or cash to "vote" for the staff member and student who will kiss a pig (yes, a real baby pig!) at the pep rally on Monday, January 23rd!
Lunches with Parents & Guardians
Students are welcome to invite their parents/guardians to come and eat lunch with them. Parents/Guardians must bring their photo ID and check in with the office to get a visitor pass, before going down to the cafeteria to eat with their child.
8th grade lunch starts at 11:11am
9th grade lunch starts at 12:04pm
RJHS PTO Needs Volunteers
Our wonderful PTO helps teachers and staff during various events each semester. They help with things like awards ceremonies, chaperoning dances, and meals for teachers during conferences. They always need volunteers to help make these events successful. If you would like to help out and become a PTO volunteer you can email Kristy Freyaldenhoven, the RJHS PTO Volunteer Coordinator.
The next volunteer opportunity is Jan 20th.
Volunteers are needed to pass out certificates at awards assembly.
