Weekly Bulletin
Week of November 13th, 2023
Message from Principal Blagg
Hello Parker Families,
We had a fantastic week at Parker. It seems amazing that we find ourselves at the end of Term 1. We have seen tremendous growth from late August until now with our students gaining independence, meeting new friends, and helping to build a robust and inclusive community. The students have learned and adjusted to new routines and academic expectations. The Term 1 report cards will be shared on Thursday November 16. Please use this as an opportunity to reflect with your child with what is going well and help to identify areas of growth. We are really endorsing a growth mindset and are pushing our students to demonstrate perseverance when meeting with adversity.
Veterans Day - November 11
Our service learning this month focused on honoring those who have served and protected our country. Our students made cards for our Veterans with many being delivered to the Chelmsford Senior Center. Our Student Council representatives made a banner honoring our Veterans and students wrote the names of Veterans in their families on stars that adorned our front lobby. We would like to thank School Resource Officers Rokas and Sullivan who worked to beautify our memorial honoring Lance Corporal Andrew Zabierek USMC and all those who served.
November 15 - Parent/Teacher Conferences
Wednesday November 15 will be a half day with dismissal at 11:10. The afternoon will be dedicated to parent-teacher conferences. The below link was previously sent this week and serves as sign up for these conferences which will be held on December 7 as well.

Message for Grade 5 Families
Good Afternoon Grade 5 Families,
In accordance with the MDPH regulation 105 CMR 200.400, the vision of each student in the public schools is to be screened in the year of school entry, annually through grade 5, once in grades 6 through 8, and once in grades 9 through 12. If your student wears eyeglasses, please make sure that they bring them to school on Friday, November 17th.
If you would like to excuse your student from this screening, please email us at kamenidesl@chelmsford.k12.ma.us.
If your child does not pass the initial vision screening, they will be screened again. If they fail the second screening, you will be notified. A letter will be sent home with your student, and you will receive an email alerting you to the need for a follow-up with your primary doctor.
Stay well,
Ms. Kamenides, RN and Mrs. Foley, LPN
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS & ACTIVITIES & LATE BUSES
Our after-school programs will start on Tuesday, October 17th. The Activity Fee is $50 per student. PLEASE CLICK ON LINK My School Bucks or send in cash or check made payable to Chelmsford Public Schools and turn into your child's homeroom teacher. The activity fee allows students to take full advantage of any clubs they wish to attend. The after-school activities run from 2:40-3:40 on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday throughout the year. Students also have the option of taking a late bus home. The routes are posted in the school and will not be posted publicly. We will work with students and the drivers to be sure students take the correct bus home. Since we only have 8 late buses, for both McCarthy and Parker the stops tend to be more spread out than the “regular” bus runs. After activities, students who are not taking a bus will exit the school into the Crooked Spring Road lot and can be picked up there.
