Principal's Message
Hello Lowell Families,
I hope your family had a nice winter break and that you were able to relax and enjoy time with each other! While the year 2020 brought many challenges to us, our Lowell students were always our bright spot! We are looking forward to a fabulous 2021 and a fabulous second semester of learning with Lowell Students!
The window to submit a learning change request for the second semester has now closed. Families who completed the change request form prior to the deadline should expect to receive contact from Lowell staff before the end of next week. Staff will contact families to inform them of class placements and teacher assignments. We appreciate your patience as we work to make these adjustments.
All students in grades K - 12 will remain virtual through Friday, January 15 of next week. Students in grades K - 5 will return to in-person learning starting on Tuesday, January 19. There is no school on Monday, January 18 due to the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
It is important for students to continue to attend virtual zoom meetings with their teachers next week. We appreciate your support in ensuring that students are attending classes and completing school assignments!
Food distribution has returned to every Tuesday and Friday from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Distribution sites are Moorhead Community Resource Center, Warren Central High School, Creston, Raymond Park, and Stonybrook. Multiple meals will be provided at each distribution.
As always, please let us know if you need anything! Thank you for your support of Lowell! Take care! Be safe!
Mrs. Griffin
LEARNING OPTION CHANGE REQUEST WINDOW HAS NOW CLOSED
The Window for Semester Two Learning Option changes has now closed. If you completed a change request form prior to the window closure, you will be contacted next week by Lowell Staff with more detailed information on room and teacher assignments. Thank you for your patience as we work to make these adjustments.
For those families with children in grades 6 - 8: The request window for 6th - 8th grade families will be open Friday, January 15th until Friday, January 29th at 4PM.
Learning Change Transition Information
As we prepare for receiving students back to in-person instruction and transitioning students to 100% virtual, you may see changes appear in your ParentVue (Synergy) and your student’s Canvas account. Some possible changes might be seeing a new teacher’s name appear on your student’s schedule or a new classroom dashboard tile in Canvas. Do not be alarmed by these changes. Once your student begins their new schedule on January 19th, you will see their accurate placement and correct teacher connections with Canvas and digital curriculum.
WIDA TESTING
WIDA testing will begin on January 11, 2021 for all identified English Learner students. Kindergarten families will be contacted to bring their students into school for testing during the week of January 11, 2021. 1st - 4th grade students will begin testing the week of January 18th when they return to in-person instruction.
If your child’s learning environment is virtual, you will be contacted to arrange a date for testing. You can bring your child to school on their designated testing date or your school can arrange transportation. Please complete this form if your child will require transportation. Please note that if your child will be using bus transportation, they will remain at school for the entire day. If you have questions, please contact Ms. Booher at 317-532-3912.

CAR RIDER INFORMATION
Students will only be released on the sidewalk side/passenger side of the vehicle. Please make sure your child is sitting on that side of your vehicle. When the sidewalk is cleared of students, cars will be released by staff to exit back out onto Raymond Street. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE YOUR CAR UNTIL STAFF INDICATES IT IS SAFE TO MOVE. DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR RIDER LINE TO MANUVEUR YOUR CAR AROUND OTHER CARS. STAY IN LINE AND FOLLOW THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU SO WE CAN EXIT SAFELY. When the next row of cars are lined up along the sidewalk and are stopped and in park, staff will release the next group of students into the building.
OUR PRIORITY IS TO KEEP STUDENTS AND STAFF SAFE! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES AND TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE LOWELL STAFF. WE APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION.
Please make sure your child has backpack/supplies ready and that good-byes are said before it's time to exit the car. We will not have time to retrieve items or have prolonged good-byes in the morning. We appreciate your help with this!!
Review the map below to see the entry/exit location and the path for the car rider line. We appreciate your patience as we all learn this new system.
