Kewaunee Middle School Newsletter

Our quarter 3 officially ends on March 23, 2023. That means that Quarter #4 and the final 9 weeks of the school year begins on March 24, 2023! We will be focusing on helping all students academically in the remaining part of the year. Please contact your child's teacher(s) if you are concerned about grades or academic performance.

Conferences for Spring are starting the week of March 13-16, 2023. Conferences are by invite only. If you would like to request a conference, please reach out to a specific teacher by emailing or calling the school. We will find a time to meet with you and help all children be successful.

It is also important to note that the Forward Exam, our statewide assessment for students in grades 5-8, testing window is being scheduled for March and April. Please look for information regarding this assessment to be sent home in a letter via school messenger. This assessment is only being offered in person. There are also testing dates and information below.

If you know your child will be absent during the Wisconsin Forward Exam, please notify the office and your child’s teacher immediately.

The Wisconsin Forward Exam is a statewide assessment for all students in Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8.

The dates of the assessment are March 21, 2023 through April 4, 2023.

Students will be assessed in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Please look for a specific letter to come home regarding your child's assessment schedule and more information about the actual assessment via School Messenger. Please check your email.

Advisories from grades 5-8 will be competing against each other to see who can have the highest amount of money in their jar on March 16. The money collected during this time is given directly back to students of our middle school. Some things it may help with: items for our Tackle Box (students can use their PBIS Rewards points they earn to purchase these items), monthly middle school incentive costs, field trip assistance, etc. Thank you for supporting the Middle School PBIS program!

Kewaunee Middle School is coordinating with the Green Bay Blizzard Football team for a fun night of football and friends on March 31, 2023 at 6:05 PM!

See the flyer below and order tickets by March 17, 2023! Students get a free ticket with an adult ticket purchase. Adults must attend the game with the student. Cost of an adult ticket is $15.00. Students will participate in a fan tunnel, participate in on field activities, and the National Anthem!

For each ticket purchased, $5.00 will be donated back to Kewaunee Middle School.

Mrs. Vande Walle's 8th Grade Advisory have been declared the 8th Grade Dodgeball Champions!

Spring sports are just around the corner! Sign up for Middle School Tennis and Track will happen soon.

If your child is interested in Track and Field, please continue to watch for updates via Facebook and sent through School Messenger. We will be looking for a Middle School Track coach! Contact the school if you are intestested.

Games and meets will be sent out in the monthly school newsletter. All meets and games are subject to change.

Mike McGowan, speaker and advocate for kids, talked to students in Grades 5-8 about kindness, leadership traits, and helping each other through critical and tough situations on Monday, February 27, 2023.

He encouraged kids to always do what is right, make the best choices, and help each other develop the skills necessary as students move from Middle to High School.

This message of kindness and acceptance of all is important for students to hear and also have teachers follow up with courageous conversations with all kids at Kewaunee Middle School.
