REMOTE STUDENTS-

REMOTE Students are invited to come decorate a brick of the school with sharpie markers on Thursday, June 3rd from 2:45-3:30. Please check in at the office. Mrs. Cole and Mrs. MacGregor will have sharpies and bricks ready for you to decorate with a memory, a quote, or a picture, so you can leave your mark on the school. We plan to do a little walk through memory lane by touring the building, and finish up by sending you home with a treat. Please RSVP by emailing macgregorm@urbandaleschools.com if you can join us!

VALERIUS LEGACY CELEBRATION-- WEDNESDAY!

As we honor the proud history of Valerius Elementary, we’d like to invite Urbandale families, staff and community members to participate in a drive-thru “Sweet Treats for Sweet Memories” experience at Valerius Elementary.

In your goodie bag you can expect one cookie per person, a QR code that will take you on a virtual tour of Valerius, and an article on Valerius history. Please stay in your vehicle and drive through to pick up your bags. If biking or walking to Valerius, please practice social distancing and wear a face mask while waiting for your sweet treat.

As you pick up your treat, you are invited to leave a written wish for the new school building. Your wish will go into the Valerius wishing well. These wishes will be shared when the new building opens in 2023.

We ordered extra cookies so we hope you can drive by for a sweet treat that evening!

VALERIUS MOVE TIMELINE

With the closure of Valerius Elementary this summer, I wanted to keep you updated on the general timelines for our moving process:


June 2nd- Valerius Legacy Celebration

June 4th is the last day of school!

June 7th/8th- Staff will finish packing up their classrooms. They are allowed up to 16 hours of paid time in addition to their contracted days.

June 11th- All of Valerius will be packed and ready to go.

June 14th-16th- Valerius will be moved to Jensen.

June 16th-18th- All garage sale items from the district and Valerius will be set up in the 2nd grade wing, the library, and the 3rd/4th grade wing

June 20th- Pre-demolition work will begin on the building with our maintenance crew

July 1-2 - Valerius Garage Sale

July 2nd- Last Day Mrs. Cole will be at Valerius

July 6th- First Day Mrs. Cole will be at Valerius at Jensen!

Registration Now Open! Community Education Summer Camp Series

Registration for the Urbandale Community Education Summer Camp Series is open. Be sure to register early and before deadlines as there will be no walk-in registrations. Camps fill up quickly so be sure to register today!

REGISTERING for the 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR

Register Today! Student Registration For The 2021-22 School Year

School registration for the 2021–2022 school year is underway! Families with students in kindergarten through 11th grade currently enrolled in the district received an email mid-March with instructions for online registration. For families without email, a letter will be mailed to you in April with instructions for registering your student(s). Once the email/letter has been received, families are welcome to register their student(s) through the online registration process. Ideally, we’d like to have all students registered for the 2021-22 school year by June 4.
