Fall Family Night
Fall Family Night will take place on September 30th from 5:00-8:00 PM! We invite you and your family to come to the school as it will be transformed into a Fun Zone for the entire family. We will have Food Trucks, a DJ, yard games, contests, and so much more! This PTA-sponsored event is completely volunteer-run so we are asking for additional help!
Please check out the Sign Up Genius for opportunities to help with donated items and volunteer time.
We look forward to seeing you there!

4th/5th Grade Band Update
We are excited to announce that our band classes began this past Friday for all of our 4th and 5th grade students! This is an amazing opportunity for our students to experience the joy and challenge that playing an instrument can provide. Here is some information about the schedule and logistics of the program.
4th Grade
- Will learn to play recorders Sept. 9 - Oct. 28 to teach instrumental basics and reading music. Recorders will remain at school but feel free to purchase one if you'd like your child to bless your home with the wonderful sound of a student learning to play.
- Nov. 3- Students will begin using band instruments!
5th grade
- September 9 - September 23 - Students will learn to read music without instruments.
- Sept 30 - Students will begin using band instruments!
For All Students
- Renting or buying an instrument is not a requirement. Thanks to our PTA partnering with our District, we have various instruments available for students to check out.
- For those who wish to rent or purchase an instrument, EUSD will be hosting an Instrument Vendor Fair on Sept. 21 at 6:30 pm at Pioneer Middle School.
- Students are strongly encouraged to practice instruments at home and bring their instrument to school every Friday for Band class.
- Our fabulous band teacher, Ms. Baker, will be setting up Google classroom with music and instrumental help videos to support all of our 4th and 5th grade students at home.
Caps for the Cure on September 30
This project hits close to home for us here at Bernardo as one of our 4th grade students, Joshua Whitten, has been diagnosed with brain cancer and is courageously undergoing treatment. Below is a flyer about the Caps for the Cure event as well as a write-up about Joshua.
