GRADUATE YELM! Personal Pledge

Have you heard about our initiative "Graduate Yelm!"? Last year the district launched the goal to connect 100 businesses, civic and community groups to our graduation goal. We would love your business to be a partner. You can also join as individual by completing the pledge. As advisory members you already do many of these things. Involvement is absolutely FREE. Last year a video was made from "A Student's Perspective." Thank you for having your students share their story to inspire their peers. Feel free to use this as it fits into your Career Readiness curriculum.

BUILDING INSIGHT - Featured Article about Yelm CTE (pg 8-9)
During Freshman interviews last spring, we made a connection with Building Industry of Association of Washington (BIAW). They are the largest trade association in Washington and represent 8,000 companies in the home building industry. After visiting our programs, they wanted to spotlight Yelm and CTE to their members. What a great shout out honoring the opportunities available to students to build their future.

AG & CTE AUDIO SPOTLIGHT

Matt Mounts was featured on the Washington Ag Network talking about the opportunity to meet student graduation requirements by offering a CTE Applied Physics class. Take a moment to listen to his spotlight. Way to represent #YelmCTE.

MAKING MOMENTS COUNT

At the last minute, Senior Vince Naylor stepped up to help film the Seahawks Turf Field assembly. To his surprise, the Q13 photojournalist set up right next to him. Vince to the opportunity to engage Brandon in a conversation, asking questions to learn about the camera and his job. Vince capitalized on an awesome opportunity. Excellent career connected learning.

TAILGATE AT THE TURF

Wow! What a tremendous event. A record 723 people attended in comparison to 450 the year before. Landscape Design students created a layout that allowed for better traffic flow. FFA and other leadership groups did an amazing job creating a welcoming and spirited environment. Great job to everyone who stepped up for this leadership and community service event.
