8. College Counseling Announcements
Class of 2023:
As we approach high school graduation, the CCO wants to remind you about two important events to honor and recognize our seniors:
Senior Signing Day, May 22nd: at our High School Community Meeting on May 22nd, we will be recognizing all of our seniors as they share their post-secondary plans. We invite all families to join our community to uplift our seniors and cheer them on for their hard work. Senior Signing Day will take place at 8am on Monday, May 22nd.
Senior Dinner, June 7th: in addition to Senior Signing Day, we invite all families to join us for our annual Senior Dinner. This event will provide our seniors and their families with a moment to reflect on their Boston Prep journey, as well as share gratitude over a meal with fellow classmates, teachers, and senior families. More information to come!
Class of 2024:
Our juniors have officially started the college and career process! While we have started meeting with juniors individually, we invite all families to join us on Tuesday, June 6th for our Junior Family Kickoff. The event will be from 5:30pm – 7:pm. Dinner will be provided. We ask for you to kindly RSVP using this link.7. BPS Exam School Information Session
Students currently in grades 5, 7, or 8 and residing in the City of Boston are eligible to apply to one of the exam schools for September 2024 (Boston Latin Academy, Boston Latin School, and O'Bryant School of Math and Science). Visit bostonpublicschools.org/exam for more details.
8. Extracurriculars and Enrichment
- World Ocean School strives to use sail training as a platform for students to work on their leadership skills, communication abilities, and strengthen connections with their peers and the natural world. Every year we offer our signature program, Summer Ambassador, for students around the country. This year the program is for 12-15 year olds. Students will board our vessel in Boston Harbor on August 2nd, and we will sail throughout New England before returning to Boston on August 12th. The program cost will be covered by the Charles Hayden Foundation, so this program is free for Boston Prep students. Apply online here! Questions? Reach out to World Ocean School Program Manager Maddy Sandler (she/her) at maddy@worldoceanschool.org.
- Boston Prep high school students have the opportunity to extend their learning through the summer enrichment programs that promote personal, academic and professional growth. Boston Prep high school students are required to participate in a summer enrichment activity each summer. Summer opportunities are shared with high school students regularly, and high school students and their families can learn about these summer enrichment opportunities here which include youth employment opportunities and a variety of summer programs. If high school students or families have questions about summer enrichment, they can contact Ms. Fontes at fina.fontes@student.bostonprep.org.
