North Platte Public Schools will implement the Infinite Campus Lunch system for the Fall of 2021. PayPams access will be discontinued on May 18, 2021. Your student lunch account balances will be transferred from the current lunch system to the new Campus Parent Portal system at the end of this school year.

If you do not already have a Campus Parent Portal account created, please follow the directions above. The Campus Parent Portal will also be required for families who apply for free and reduced lunch.

During the month of March, you will receive an email from the school district with a link to activate your Parent Portal account. If you do not receive this email, please reach out to WelcomeCenter@nppsd.org for assistance.

Nebraska’s Student-Centered Assessment System (NSCAS), pronounced “en-skass,” is a statewide assessment system that supports Nebraska’s holistic view of students. The assessment system provides valuable information to educators and parents as they prepare students for success in postsecondary education, career, and civic life.

The NSCAS General Summative Assessment is administered annually in the spring for grades 3-8 and for Grade 11. The NSCAS Alternate assessment is also administered for students with significant cognitive disabilities. The ELPA 21 summative assessment is administered to all English learner students in grades K-12.

The spring testing window for all NSCAS assessments will begin on March 22, 2021, and will conclude on May 7th, 2021. The ELPA 21 window began on February 8th, 2021, and will conclude on March 19, 2021.

Students in grades 3-8 whether in attendance or in remote learning will be required to participate in the NSCAS assessment. More information for remote learners will be shared in the coming weeks by the student’s building administrator and will be posted on the district website. If families have inquiries regarding state testing they may contact their student’s building administrator.

Tips for a Successful Testing Experience

1. Encourage your student to visit with their teacher if they have questions about the assessment prior to testing.

2. Encourage your student to get a good night’s rest the night before the assessment 3. Encourage your student to have breakfast at home or at school the morning of the assessment.

4. Encourage your student to relax during test-taking time.

5. Encourage your student to do their best!

After losing their live performances of last year’s musical to the Covid-19 pandemic, the NPHS Music Department is PROUD to present “Ranked: A New Musical”! Rehearsals are underway for the Nebraska premiere of this new musical, written by Kyle Holmes and David Taylor Gomez and premiered at Granite Bay High School in March of 2019. Debuting just weeks after the College Admissions Scandal took the nation by storm, Ranked tells the story of a dystopian world where competition reaches new heights as publicized academic excellence defines each student's worth. In the face of an intense and perverse culture of performance, Lily must come to grips with her place in the status quo as she watches friends and enemies alike destroy themselves and each other to score their way to the top of academic leaderboards. When an impossible lie is discovered, the fate of these students' futures hangs in the balance.

This musical will feature many students who are no stranger to the stage, including: Carly Purdy as Lily, Caedmon Hoaglund as John, Faith Miller as Alexis, Jonah San Miguel as Ryan, Baylee Steele as Jordan and Annie von Kampen as Sydney. In addition, the cast includes about 35 other roles that will show off the talent at NPHS!

Ranked is set to take the stage March 19-21, 2021. Ticket sales will begin March 1st at www.showtix4u.com. As things evolve with the pandemic, we will follow guidance from our health department about spectator capacity for our performances. At this time, planning Summer Kids Klub is moving forward for 2021.

In an effort to honor those who registered for last summer, we will be contacting those families first to see if they are interested in keeping their spot.

We will then move to the summer of 2020 waiting list and take students from that list if anyone gives up their spot.

At that point, if there are still spots available, we will open them up on a first-come, first-serve basis. Details will follow if this occurs.

We felt this was the fairest approach in handling summer registration this year.

We will begin making those phone calls on March 11 & 12.

Mr. Altig, Mr. Simpson, and I continuously monitor bills that could directly affect school operations. Currently, 24 bills are being considered for education or educational funding. One high-interest bill to the district is LB 288 - Change dates related to certification and distribution of state aid to schools.
