Parents Support

Dear Parent(s),

This week I'd like to recognize the ongoing support of our parents and specifically our Niton Central Fundraising Society. When I first arrived at Niton Central I was aware of the strong support the school receives from the community. Five months into my Principal position I can honestly say the school's position as the cornerstone of the community is still true. This is made apparent through your unwavering support.

For example, in our Learning In Action you will see our students making use of the newly purchased 'Boomwhackers" from donations from our N.C.F.S.

On the same note I'd like to thank Miss King for explaining to me what a BoomWhacker is and used it is used for.

Although currently we are limiting access to the school please remember that our staff is here to assist you where needed and you are welcome to contact us.

Counselor's Corner

As adults we are all aware of loss, know that you aren’t alone and this is an experience many parents have, especially with the government restrictions in place. We might not get to experience the grief we deserve. Know that grief, regardless of age, can be hard and there are stages we might go through. There is a picture included for reference. The stages include Shock, Denial, Anger, Depression, and Acceptance. With that being said these stages might come and go. There is no specific order that people feel them in or if they will feel them at all. Know that it is okay to feel them and if depression becomes chronic to reach out for help. I encourage you to be open and honest with your children and if you are experiencing grief to have a conversation with your children about those stages you all might be going through. Create a safe place to talk and don’t be afraid of vulnerability. You are all superhero parents and we trust that you got this!
