Monday - Time Machine or Rhyme with No Reason Day
Tuesday - Circle of Life Day
Wednesday - Character/Celebrity Day
Thursday - Black and Gold/Dress Like a Pirate Day
Friday - Athlete vs. Mathlete Day
We will play the homecoming football game on Thursday at 7:00 PM vs. Bertie. We will also hold a pep rally for all students on Thursday at the end of the school day.
Huge CONGRATULATIONS to our Band and Color Guard on their performance at the Peanut Festival in Edenton this weekend. For the first time since 2005 The Peanut Award for best band across all divisions was awarded to the Marching Pirates. They also had the following placements at the competition:
1st Place - Visual, General Effect, Color Guard, Overall Class AAA
2nd Place - Drum Majors, Percussion, and Music
Finally, Mr. Evan Copeland was recognized as the Favorite Band Director at the event. Great job by all of our Marching Pirates and support personnel.
This week at PCHS:
Monday - FCCLA will meet in Mrs. Mountjoy-Riddick's room at 7:30
Tuesday - FFA Livestock Judging team will compete, Volleyball travels to Gates County with JV at 4:30 and Varsity to follow
Wednesday - Students who have signed up will take the ASVAB, Volleyball will play at Camden at 4:30, Soccer will host Gates County at 6:00 and PCHS College application and information night will begin at 6:00 in the media center. Parents of Seniors will want to attend this event to be prepared for college application and financial aid requirements.
Thursday - FCA will meet in the gym at 7:30, Cross Country will run at Riverside High School at 4:00, Volleyball will host Martin County on Senior Night for the volleyball team starting at 4:30, Football will host Bertie at 7:00 for Homecoming
The first grading period ends in two weeks. If students are missing assignments and are able to get them completed and submitted the time in now. Parents we encourage you to log into Powerschool and take time to talk to your student about where they are in each of their classes. Help them set a plan for success as we near the end of the first nine weeks.

10/19 - Herff Jones will be on campus for Juniors and Seniors to discuss/order class rings and graduation items
10/20 - End of 1st Nine Weeks
10/21 - FFA/HOSA Pork Chop Dinner
10/27 - Make-up Picture Day
12/14-12/20 - Final Exams for all classes
4/27 - Prom at Albemarle Plantation
5/31 - Graduation 7:30

October is Countdown to College (C2C) Month, and we have a lineup of events designed to empower you and your student on their post graduation path:
1. College Information Night: October 11th, 6:00pm - 7:00pm Join us at Perquimans High School's Media Center on October 11th for College Information Night. Gain invaluable insights into the college application process, financial aid, and scholarships.
2. Free College Application Week (CAW): October 16th - 20th During CAW, we're waiving college application fees! Apply to colleges for free! See the list of participating schools.
3. Weekly Virtual College Tours: 'The College Tour' Explore college life firsthand with 'The College Tour,' hosted by real students. Discover academics, housing, sports, careers, and more from campuses worldwide.
4. Virtual Student Sessions - NC C2C (College Foundation of North Carolina): Explore career paths and job offerings on the College Foundation of North Carolina's website.
