The First Week of School

We can't wait to welcome all our Colts back to school this week! We enjoyed seeing families for Open House and have provided information below to help you prepare for the first day of school!

Permanent Car Riders

Will your child be a permanent car rider this year? If you have not done so already, you will want to visit us online to fill out the Permanent Car Rider application. All car riders will receive a tag to be displayed daily for pick up.
Car riders may be dropped off in the front loop between 7:45 - 8:15 each morning. If arriving before 7:45am, students should remain in vehicles until the 7:45am bell. All cars should remain in the left lane while inside the loop during morning drop off. Your child should be prepared to exit the car from the right side of the vehicle. If your child is unable to exit the car independently & needs assistance, please park in the side parking lot and escort your child to one of the student chaperones. Students arriving after 8:15 should be escorted to the front vestibule & signed in prior to heading to class.
In the afternoon we will begin car rider dismissal after our afternoon announcements at 3:10pm. We ask that parents not arrive at school for afternoon dismissal prior to 2:45pm and have tags displayed from the rearview mirror. If you have not yet received your tag, we will be distributing tags during the first few days of school. To help with the flow of traffic, during the 1st week of school, we ask that families with students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten arrive for car riders between 2:45 - 3:05pm. We ask that if you are picking up students in 1st - 5th grade that you arrive between 3:05 - 3:25pm. If you have children in multiple grade levels, we ask that you arrive during the time frame for the youngest student!
While we will be unable to welcome parents/guardians into the building during morning arrival. We will have a student chaperone service available to assist in helping students arrive safely to classrooms.

Breakfast & Lunch

All students will have access to breakfast & lunch at no cost. If a student would like second servings of meals, please make sure to set up My School Bucks as the cafeteria is unable to accept cash or checks. The school menu can be found below.

Student Handbook

The Student Handbook is available online. We ask that all families review & sign the online Student Handbook!

Visiting MES

We are excited to welcome visitors back to MES this year! To allow time for students to transition back to school and establish routines, we will begin welcoming families for lunches the first week in October.
